“Democracy” is taking a back seat in the coming chaos, as Democratic Party plans are already underway to challenge the election – meaning that the day after the election, we may not know who wins.
Enter Marc Elias, Harris’ campaign attorney. As reported in Real Clear Politics, “The longtime Democratic Party lawyer has already filed more than 60 preelection lawsuits to stop Trump from becoming president again by combatting what he calls Republican ‘voter suppression’ efforts such as requiring voters to provide identification at the polls. Echoing a standard Democratic talking point, Elias maintains that such requirements are “racist” strategies designed to make it harder for minorities to vote.”
This isn’t new behavior from Democrats. All through the 2024 election, they have sued to keep third party candidates or off the ballots in key swing states, depending on who that candidate is and what the state is. In short, Elias and his cronies are putting their thumbs on the scales to help Kamala Harris win the Presidency – and this will continue well after the elections are “over.”
Elias also gained notoriety for defeating almost all of former President Trumps election lawsuits in 2020.
As for acceptance of the results? Again, Democrats have been here before, too.
In 2000, numerous commentators argued that George W. Bush didn’t really win his election, with one going so far as to say that “9/11 whitewashed what really happened in Bush v. Gore.” Thirteen House Democrats also refused to vote to certify the results. Former Vice President Al Gore also spoke against the results.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton called Trump “an illegitimate President,” and hinted that she thought that the election results were also possibly illegitimate. Seven House Democrats refused to certify the results.
And of course, there’s Georgia Governor Stacey Abrams – who refused to give a concession speech at all, claiming the entire election was rigged (though she swears she’s not an election denialist). It all worked out though, because in the end, Star Trek made her President of Earth.
In fact, just as recently as this week, leading Democrats have refused to say if they’ll accept the outcome – rhetoric they excoriated Republicans for in 2020. According to reporting from Axios, “Raskin, the House Oversight Committee ranking member and former Jan. 6 committee member who objected to Trump electors in 2017, told Axios in an interview that if Trump ‘won a free, fair and honest election, then we would obviously accept it.’ And again, “House Rules Committee Ranking Member Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), who also objected to Trump electors in 2017, said Democrats would certify a Trump victory ‘assuming everything goes the way we expect it to.’”
Consider the phrasing: expect it to.
American voters better buckle in for a wild post-election ride.
The reason for that kind of prep is clear – the Democrats can read polls too.
Polling is showing that Vice President Kamala Harris’ election hopes are in serious trouble, and not just with men anymore. New polling from Kaiser Family Foundation shows that among women, “inflation continues to be the number one issue for women voters heading into this election.” Abortion ranked 3rd. What’s more, despite a continued campaign of abortion as their signature issue with less than 30 days until the election, Harris cannot break 50% support even among women as a singular voting bloc.
There’s more bad news for Democrats. Increasingly Black male voters are leaning towards the Republican Party, likely because among the Black community in her political party, only 24% see abortion as the most critical issue.
Naturally, rather than shift their focus, the Democrats are doubling down on what they’ve always done: shame everyone into compliance and agreement by calling them racist, sexist, or both.
In Pennsylvania, former President Barrack Obama started the process off saying, “You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses. I’ve got a problem with that. Part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and reasons for that.”
Students for Life Action (SFLAction) predicted it would come to this, writing in the past that male voters are needed to win, but the numbers won’t materialize if abortion is all the Democrats will offer.

So, you might now assume that given a Trump victory and all Democrats talking about American democracy and protecting the integrity of sacred institutions, they will accept that outcome.
Wrong.
