Students for Life Action (SFLAction) is making its mark in the GOP primary runoff election for the Texas 9th district U.S. House of Representatives race.

SFLAction President Kristan Hawkins endorsed SFLAction alumnus Texas state Rep. Briscoe Cain, saying, “It is a great privilege to see people go from passionate pro-life student to champion for LIFE, and Briscoe Cain has impressed me and our team every step along the way. I am proud to endorse Briscoe on behalf of Students for Life Action, as his leadership, integrity, and courage are just what Congress needs.”

The group’s involvement certainly didn’t end there, though, as students and volunteers knocked on a record 1,738 doors in two days, educating voters about Cain’s pro-life stance and the importance of voting pro-life first.

“We had a record-breaking response rate during SFLAction’s recent Texas deployment in the 9th Congressional District, with 66% of all surveyed voters taking action to support Rep. Cain,” said SFLAction Vice President Lane Koch. “This goes to show how when the Pro-Life Generation informs voters on their candidates’ records, it moves the dial, proving the pro-life issue is good policy and good politics.”

The Pro-Life Generation not only mobilized Cain supporters, but also grew his base, with 43% of surveyed voters changing their minds in support of Cain.

“It’s a tight race and every vote counts,” Koch said. “The Pro-Life Generation vote, our movement is powerful, and our organization is proving we are a political force in the pro-life movement and broader political ecosystem – this past weekend is proof.”

The runoff election will take place May 26, with early voting May 18-22.
