Kristan Hawkins calls Administration’s Pro-Life Announcements Today “A Great Start, but Don’t Forget to Focus on Chemical Abortion Pills”

“Beginning in the first Trump Administration, the Pro-Life Generation called for Planned Parenthood to debarred, a process of eliminating them from ALL federal funding after investigation. We came back in October and were joined by many others, so the biggest news today is a new look at the nation’s largest abortion vendor,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “But we are also celebrating an end to the inhumane research on the broken bodies of babies killed by abortion. Not only were the results reported as ineffective, but such barbarism also created an income stream for abortion vendors.”

WASHINGTON D.C. (01-22-2026) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins and key team leaders were among a select few at a White House briefing detailing a number of exciting pro-life policies, announced to time with the National Pro-Life March. Hawkins said: “Even during the election, the Students for Life Action team was advocating for many of the policies announced today. We were early in identifying defunding Planned Parenthood through an investigation, ending cruel and ineffective research with the broken bodies of aborted children, and enhancing Mexico City protections. But as I said in the meeting, this is a great start, but don’t forget to focus on Chemical Abortion Pills.”

Hawkins live tweeted during the briefing. You can see her comments here.

SFLAction has led the way, calling for an investigation of Planned Parenthood, launched again this year at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Earlier this year, we lead a protest at the SBA as petitions from around the country were delivered, calling for close attention to accusations against the discredited abortion vendor.

In SFLAction’s Day One Agenda for the Trump Administration, Hawkins called for enhanced Mexico City policy as well as debarment. Learn more here.

SFLAction has also been calling for an end to cruel research from aborted babies’ bodies. Learn more about our campaign at the University of Pittsburgh here.

“The steps announced today will help untangle U.S. policy and money from those pushing death by abortion, but we also celebrated the Health and Human Services announcement earlier in the week to address the attacks on the conscience rights of Americans, especially in Illinois,” said Hawkins. “We have been engaged in a lawsuit there, fighting for our students who don’t want to support abortion.”
