Dear Members of Congress,
Welcome back from August recess. Students for Life Action (SFLAction), on behalf of more than 1,600 student groups and more than 225,000 trained activists operating in all 50 states, looks forward to working with you all to protect LIFE in law and in service this legislative session. Now that we are eight months into this congressional term and a year away from releasing our Pro-Life Generation Report Card, we would like to highlight what legislative actions we plan to score. Because there are often very few actual votes on LIFE-related legislation, we score more than just Votes… we also score on Vision. Sponsorships and Co-sponsorships of key pieces of legislation count with our voters. We also sometimes offer extra credit to legislators for crucial efforts, such as our extra credit given last session for support of the Child Tax Credit expansion.
The following represents our current plans for scoring, though that may increase:
Votes:
- Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act – House vote (in favor)
- Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act – Senate vote (in favor)
- One Big Beautiful Bill – House vote (in favor)
- One Big Beautiful Bill – Senate vote (in favor)
- One Big Beautiful Bill – Final House vote (in favor)
- One Big Beautiful Bill – Sen. Murray Amendment (against) The Continuing Appropriations Extension – Senate vote (against)
Co-Sponsorships:
- Defund Planned Parenthood Act – Senate bill
- Life at Conception Act – House bill
- Protecting Life om College Campus Act – House bill
- Protecting Life om College Campus Act – Senate bill
- FACE Act Repeal Act – House bill
- Ending Chemical Abortion Act – House bill
- Heartbeat Protection Act – House bill
- No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act – House bill
- No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act – Senate bill
- Women’s Protection in Telehealth Act – House bill
To Note: As with any scorecard, the Pro-Life Generation Report Card will be publicized to voters and supporters in all 50 states.
If you have any questions regarding our report card or how to work with us on the life issue, do not hesitate to reach out to our Government Affairs Coordinator, Savanna Deretich, at [email protected].
In Life,
Kristan Hawkins
