A few weeks ago, Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed a bill with an important message to Planned Parenthood: stay out of Utah schools!
HB 233, sponsored by Representative Nicholeen Peck (R-Tooele), prohibits abortion vendors from teaching health education classes in Utah public schools. This bill is a massive win for Utah children and parents as pro-life advocates work to eradicate abortion from our society.
There’s a clear conflict of interest involved with abortion vendors teaching young children about health. Planned Parenthood’s business thrives off of sex, mainly through their big money-maker: abortion. While Planned Parenthood facilities also hand out birth control and perform a few types of testing, their non-abortion services have declined in recent years, while abortion has increased. National Review’s Michael New reported, “Between 2022 and 2023, preventive-care visits fell by 31.0 percent, pap tests fell by 13.5 percent, cancer screenings fell by 1.4 percent, and adoption referrals fell by 4.5 percent. For every adoption referral in 2023, Planned Parenthood committed more than 228 abortions.”
By increasing the number of abortions, Planned Parenthood can increase its profits. Planned Parenthood’s oversexualization of children – teaching them about things like masturbation – helps them make a profit as these children grow older and become sexually active.
Allowing Planned Parenthood into schools places them in a position of trust with children. If those children grow up and find themselves facing an unexpected pregnancy, they’ll remember the times when Planned Parenthood came to their school and seek them out (and will be vulnerable to abortion because they view Planned Parenthood as an authority figure).
But the biggest win for Utah thanks to this new law? Disallowing the number-one killer of preborn humans from infiltrating schools. Planned Parenthood runs its business around abortion. Planned Parenthood claims to care about children and their health, yet they end the lives of 1,076 preborn children every single day. Make no mistake: Planned Parenthood is an abortion business. No one who makes a business of killing innocent human beings should be anywhere near a school, much less teaching in a classroom.
Planned Parenthood and other abortion vendors should not be allowed to teach children about anything, especially sex, which drives their business. Planned Parenthood does not have our children’s best interests in mind – they’re more concerned with their own profits. It’s time for every state to Defund Big Abortion and keep them out of our schools!
