For the first time since being re-elected as President of the United States, President Trump will share his administrative achievements, legislative priorities, and his “America First” vision in a Congressional address. Students for Life Action (SFLAction) has some hopes for what he should include.  Since day one in the White House, the President has worked tirelessly to fulfill his campaign promises, to put America first, and to create a better future for our nation. What better way to ensure a bright future for every citizen than by pledging to cut the taxpayer support of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one abortion-for-profit vendor, going after America’s children in the womb?

Every day, more than 1,076 babies are barbarically killed by Planned Parenthood using taxpayer dollars, according to Planned Parenthood’s recent annual report. President Trump should take action to debar and defund Planned Parenthood for by their crimes against humanity. Not only is Planned Parenthood using tax-payer dollars to kill preborn humans, but they also campaigned against President Trump in his past election. PBS News reported that Planned Parenthood spent $40 million ahead of last November’s elections to “bolster President Joe Biden and leading congressional Democrats.”

But that’s not all, there’s more. In a statement from the Planned Parenthood Action fund, they spent “a record-breaking $69.5 million investment during the election cycle.” We’re guessing that money did not go to back President Trump’s campaign … or to anyone with an “R” next to their name.

“It’s never been more clear: Planned Parenthood is Trump’s political enemy, and you only have to look at the last election cycle to see how one-sided their political activism is,” said Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins. “And now, the New York Times reports that horrifying conditions are an issue behind the closed doors of the nation’s number one abortion vendor. It’s time for Americans to use their collective voice to call on President Trump to stop pouring out our taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, an organization that spends millions to elect pro-abortion politicians so they can keep ending precious lives in the womb,” said Hawkins. “Defunding Planned Parenthood is a win for all Americans, born and preborn, and would be a huge win for President Trump.”

If President Trump’s address paints his vision to put America first, then he should put a stop to the violent killing of preborn American children and cut funding to his political enemy, Planned Parenthood. Protecting life is not a states’ issue, it is a Presidential obligation and a federal responsibility. In fact, we said as much with our Fox News commercial, requesting that Trump defund his political enemy, Planned Parenthood.

LEARN MORE:Why Trump Should Stop Spending Millions Funding His Political Enemies, Specifically Planned Parenthood

Key points from Planned Parenthood’sannual report in 2022-2023 compared to 2021-2022 prove abortion is a federal issue:

  • Abortion rose to 392,715 from 374,155 lives ended. (About 40%of all abortions in the United States).
  • Coerced taxpayer funding rose to $699.3 MILLION, From $670.4 million in 2021-2022, and up from $1 million in2019-2022.
  • 45 Planned Parenthoodaffiliates sold sex-manipulating, potentially sterilizing drugs – up from 41.

Cutting money that goes to Planned Parenthood will come from several different departments. As SFLA Vice President of Media and Policy Kristi Hamrick recentlywrote: “Abortion funding can be found in the budgets of the Department of Health & Human Services(HHS), where healthcare policy and mandates of all kinds dictate spending, in the Department of Defense & Education, proposed in the “Abortion is Health Care Everywhere Act.”

Leading up to his State of the Union address, we ask President Trump to remember the promise he made during his Inauguration Speech to the nation. Those promises were made for us and for our children. We ask President Trump to remember that he said he would fight for every parent and every child, “We are one people, one family and one glorious nation under God. So, to every parent who dreams for their child and every child who dreams for their future, I am with you. I will fight for you, and I will win for you.”
