Students for Life Action Calls “Big, Beautiful Bill” Passage a Victory for Preborn Babies, as their Mothers Will Get Real Healthcare When Abortion Vendors Cut Out; Next Stop, the U.S. Senate
“This is an historic win for Pro-Life Americans and children in the womb, as Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion has been cut out of the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ and has been told to go fund themselves, Our 50-state grassroots network will now turn our attention to the U.S. Senate, asking them to put life-saving care over the interests of the abortion lobby,’” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins.
WASHINGTON D.C. (05-22-2025) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins celebrated the vote in the U.S. House that advances President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” without support for the abortion industry, including Planned Parenthood, and said: “Our country needs to invest in hope and a future for everyone, born and preborn. As Planned Parenthood’s annual report just revealed, American taxpayers have been forced to be in the business of supporting the abortion industry, which bragged about ending the lives of over 400,000 babies last year. As I’ve said before, Planned Parenthood can go fund themselves.”
SFLAction will score the budget vote and has engaged in a nationwide push in support of the redirected funds, in Washington D.C. and district visits as well as prayer vigils, digital outreach, and viral campaigns. That focus will now pivot to GOP members of the U.S. Senate, to win passage of the bill, that reportedly could be completed by July 4.

- Though they saw less than 2% patient increase compared to the previous report, Planned Parenthood got a 13% pay increase – from $699.3 million in 2022-2023 to $792.2 million.
- Taxpayers are more on the hook than ever to support them, now forced to cover 39% of their total budget, up from 34%.
- The number of lives ended by abortion at Planned Parenthood’s hands rose again: 402,200 – up from 392,715 in their last report – about a 2.4% increase over the last year, and a 7.5% increase over the course of the last two years.
- Adoption referrals are basically stagnant, reported at 2,148, compared to 1,721 in the previous report
- “Other services” hide true data on Planned Parenthood’s sterilizing hormone sales to minors.
As part of the Defund Planned Parenthood and all Abortion Vendors campaign, SFLAction spearheaded an Emergency “Defund Planned Parenthood” Webcast, with leading Pro-Life voices, calling for ending the forced funding of abortion through the current reconciliation process.
That followed an impressive event on Capitol Hill as pro-life leaders from across the country joined a Defund Planned Parenthood & ALL Abortion Vendors media event as well as a lobby day, letting members of Congress know that their pro-life voters were fully engaged.
