All of June, outside the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS), Students for Life of America (SFLA) stood strong with posters and a large banner reading Defund Planned Parenthood waiting for a decision on Medina v. Planned Parenthood.

We made it clear that the Pro-Life Generation (PLG) showed up as the justices delivered a long-awaited win on Saturday, June 28th.

This 6-3 ruling cleared the path for states to defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion vendors through Medicaid, ending a long legal battle in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic.

This case addressed whether a provision in the Medicaid Act entitled the beneficiary to choose any medical provider and if a Medicaid beneficiary can pick a provider that has been disqualified by the state.

SFLA also did not just show up—we made headlines!

Here’s a look at some of the media coverage highlighting our bold stand outside SCOTUS:

Photos of our banner and posters have been front-and-center in various outlets, including in the  National Review who also shared about our National Celebrate Life Weekend event from June 27-29. USA Today and The Daily Wire also displayed images of our banner prominently in their articles.

LifeSiteNews featured an X post from SFLA President Kristan Hawkins that said: “LIFE WINS.” The post was one of many that circulated as media outlets spotlighted the pro-life movement’s response to the SCOTUS ruling.

Worthy News also featured a statement from Kristan Hawkins, who argued that “this is not about denying care. It’s about making sure care is offered by providers who do not exploit vulnerable women for profit or end innocent human lives.”

Not only did we get attention from national news outlets, but we made several news headlines in South Carolina, where Medina v. Planned Parenthood originated.

FITSNews highlighted that SFLA and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) celebrated the SCOTUS ruling.

They shared Hawkins’ statement which emphasized that “taxpayers should not be forced to support abortion vendors.” The outlet also noted SFLAction’s political influence in South Carolina, where we played a key role in unseating three ‘Sister Senators’ who stalled the Human Life Protection Act and the Fetal Heartbeat and Protection From Abortion Act.

This is what the PLG looks like.  We show up, we speak out, and we don’t back down. We are more energized than ever to keep pushing for pro-life policies and laws. Every preborn child deserves protection, and every taxpayer deserves better than being forced to fund abortion on demand.
