When Jay Jones Shows You Who He is, Believe Him, Virginia.

Former Delegate Jay Jones, the Democratic nominee for Virginia Attorney General, faces mounting pressure to withdraw his candidacy following the disclosure of violent text messages he sent to Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner, which makes us wonder what else he believes regarding the sanctity of all Life.

The messages, which included violent language referencing former Republican Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert, his family, and law enforcement officers, have ignited a political firestorm and drawn condemnation from both parties. However, it is only Republicans calling for him to drop out.  The Democrats seem to be standing by their man.  For now.

After the National Review’s report, Jones admitted to sending a series of text messages to Del. Carrie Coyner, a Republican colleague in the House of Delegates. The messages included violent language regarding former House Speaker Todd Gilbert, making explicit and disparaging comments about Gilbert’s family and local law enforcement.

While Jones has acknowledged the messages and expressed regret, it is hard to believe someone that can type the words, “Three people, two bullets, Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head,” along with the justification of killing Gilbert’s children, or as he sees them, “little fascists.” “Yes, I’ve told you this before. Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy,” is what Jones chillingly wrote to Coyner.

Jones, in an earlier series of texts, even went on to justify the killing of police officers, as a solution to racial justice. These are the beliefs he holds dear as he seeks to be the Top Cop for the Commonwealth.

Political analysts suggest that Jones’s continued candidacy may become untenable, especially as the race heats up and opponents leverage the scandal in public debates.

As of now, Jay Jones remains a candidate in the attorney general race but faces significant obstacles to his campaign’s viability. But we as the public should not be shocked.  Jay Jones has already shown us the monster he truly is in his very public positioning on abortion.

According to Planned Parenthood themselves, the Commonwealth of Virginia allows abortion up to 26 weeks, or over 5 months.  That is a shocking amount of time, but according to Jones, that is not enough.  From his campaign website, Jones states, “I was proud to expand abortion rights in the Virginia Legislature and to serve on the Virginia Planned Parenthood board. I’ll always work to ensure Virginia women, doctors and (facilities) are protected to the full extent of the law and to support Planned Parenthood and local community health centers providing healthcare to women against attempts to bankrupt them through the legal system.”

Not only is he in the pocket of Planned Parenthood admittedly, but he also wants to expand already a wide berth of access, in a state where Chemical Abortion Pills are perfectly permissible as well.

Why are we shocked that he would call for the execution of Gilbert’s children? He is literally running on calling for the mass death of preborn Virginians.

This is just another reason on why we must elect leaders who care about Life, not continue to elect candidates consumed and obsessed with a Culture of Death.  Life and Liberty for All were born in this great Commonwealth.

To protect both, choose wisely this November, Virginia.
