“The Pro-Life Generation has led the way in revolutionizing the legislative response to Chemical Abortion Pills. At the state and federal levels, leaders like those in Indiana are hitting the abortion drug cartel where it hurts them most – in their wallets,” said Students for Life Action’s Kristan Hawkins.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. (01-28-2026) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins applauded Indiana state senators for the passage of the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” (SB236), introduced by Sen. Tyler Johnson. If signed into law, the measure would impose civil penalties via lawsuits on Chemical Abortion Pill vendors prescribing & shipping the deadly pills within and into Indiana.

“This is exactly what GOP legislators should be doing – using their skills to quickly and decisively push pro-life legislation addressing a killer that moves through the mail – Chemical Abortion Pills. These deadly drugs kill innocent babies; expose women in injury, infertility, and death; empower abusers; and create abortion water pollution by the tons,” said Hawkins. “We are seeing this kind of legislation trending across the country.”

SFLAction is calling on Speaker of the House Rep. Todd Huston to recommend the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” for an immediate floor vote to protect the preborn children and women of the Hoosier State.

According to a January 2026 Students for Life’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement poll released and conducted by Survey USA, the Youth Vote, which makes up nearly half of the electorate, agrees on the importance of legislation like the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act.” More than 9 in 10 supported a federal review of Chemical Abortion Pill policy and the reinstatement of health and safety standards that have been stripped away from Chemical Abortion Pills, leaving women at risk for injury, infertility, death, and abuse at the hands of those who use the deadly pills against women without their consent. Half of the Youth Vote also supports in-person dispensing requirements for Chemical Abortion Pills to protect mothers from abuse, with only 27% opposing such requirements.

If passed, the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” would:

  • Hold Chemical Abortion Pill vendors civilly liable for the wrongful death or injury of preborn children and women due to use of Chemical Abortion Pills.
  • Give mothers, fathers, and family members of preborn children killed as well as family members of women killed or injured in a Chemical Abortion, standing to bring lawsuits up to at least $100,000 against Chemical Abortion Pill vendors.
  • Hold Chemical Abortion Pill vendors liable for violation of Indiana’s abortion law whether or not the violation originates in Indiana. This means that abortion vendors who send Chemical Abortion Pills into Indiana in violation of Indiana law are held liable, even if the vendor resides in a state that allows for abortion.
  • Require each abortion complication report to be sent by the state department to the inspector general’s office.

SFLAction is encouraging Indiana voters to join the fight by telling their representatives to VOTE YES on the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act.”

SFLAction’s push to get the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” passed is part of our larger Make America Pro-Life Again Roadmap. Launched last November, this legislative package, built upon the Gonzales v. Carhart case, will help take down abortion at the state and federal level.
