“Unless the Trump Administration Enforces the Comstock Act, any statements about needing to follow the Title X regulation to fund Planned Parenthood will be seen as hypocritical nonsense,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “Planned Parenthood must be investigated and debarred – cut from all federal programs – because no matter what program is at play, the nation’s number one abortion vendors is unqualified to receive taxpayer support.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (03-31-2026) – An announcement by the Trump Administration that Title X family planning monies – set aside to assist with family planning, not family destruction through abortion – will now be handed over again to Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion comes with an unexpected twist. Funds that had been paused are to be restored, according to reports, because the regulations in place would need to be changed to allow for defunding. A review is said to be in the works.
“So let me get this straight, to comply with regulations, Title X fund would go to all of the abortion vendors who did the paperwork, while we wait for a regulation review. Meanwhile, a law that has been on the books for decades that says you can’t mail of abortifacients – the Comstock Act – is completely ignore?” questioned Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins. “Unless the Comstock Act is enforced to stop death-by-mail, any stated concern with following Title X ‘regulations’ will be seen as completely hypocritical.”

The announcement that Title X fund would go back to all of the abortion vendors who complied by filling out the paperwork came as Students for Life called for the Department of Justice and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to enforce the Comstock Act.

“This piecemeal approach to defunding Big Abortion ignores the best tool available to the Trump Administration – debarment,” said Hawkins. “Planned Parenthood & Big Abortion should be investigated for debarment – a job review that examines complaints against a vendor to see if they are still qualified to receive taxpayer support. And believe me, there is a lot to investigate. No matter what federal program is in play, Planned Parenthood’s track record of financial impropriety and failures to follow the law on things like reporting the abuse of women and girls would lead to one conclusion. They are unqualified for taxpayer support – and President Trump can tell Planned Parenthood, you’re fired.”
