“The ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ signing last year on the Fourth of July started a countdown clock,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “If Congress does not act to keep the cuts in place, Planned Parenthood & Big Abortion will revive a massive gift from taxpayers on America’s 250th birthday. We are calling on Congress to get busy or get an F on our score card. But, if the deadline is missed, we have an extra credit plan in place. The bottom line, pro-life voters want to see healthcare money invested with those who intend for their patients to survive with their lives and fertility intact.”

WASHINGTON D.C. (06-04-2026) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins sent a letter to Members of Congress, calling on them to finish what they started almost one year ago, and defund Planned Parenthood & Big Abortion before they can again siphon funds from taxpayer-funded healthcare programs to prop up abortion vendors. President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” signed last year on the Fourth of July, cut federal, healthcare dollars from big abortion vendors, but because the provision in the U.S. House language was changed from a bold 10-years of cuts to an anemic one-year of cuts by the U.S. Senate, a crisis for GOP voters was put in place. “With the extraordinary opportunity of the White House, Senate, and House in the hands of Republicans, pro-life voters asked for abortion vendors to go fund themselves. But cutting Planned Parenthood & Big Abortion out of healthcare programs for only one year meant that at the midterms, abortion would be back in the headlines,” said Hawkins. “Pro-life voters want to see the job finished. And if the Senate Parliamentarian gets in the way again, her advice should be ignored, just has been done before.”
While usually a score letter is tied to a specific vote, SFLAction is scoring whether all of Congress meets the July 4th deadline. But, if that deadline is missed, the “F” in the Report Card can be addressed with extra credit, as detailed below.
The letter reads as follows:
