It was a joy to stand and speak alongside multiple pro-life warriors in Congress and from several organizations on Capitol Hill, making our voices utterly clear: Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion need to be defunded PERMANENTLY!
As the Government Affairs Coordinator at Students for Life Action, I know firsthand how difficult it is to get legislative items accomplished at the federal level, especially with an issue that most GOP members won’t touch with a 10-foot pole. Despite the high temperatures, people from many different areas of the pro-life movement showed up for the ‘DEFUND BIG ABORTION’ press conference at the House Triangle with one shared goal: to urge the GOP to protect preborn children, women, and our taxpayer money.
Sen. Hawley (R-MO), Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL), Rep. Mark Harris (R-NC), and Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN) joined us to share their commitments to defending Life and doing everything they can to defund Planned Parenthood. We are so grateful to them and all the wonderful work they do to be a voice for the voiceless.
At the press conference, we emphasized that reconciliation could defund abortion vendors like Planned Parenthood once again, and we called on the GOP to use their authority in bills, amendments, and their own advocacy to finish what they started.
But debarment is another path forward. The Trump Administration could complete an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s bad acts, now underway at the Small Business Administration, and tell Planned Parenthood “You’re Fired.”
In my remarks, I ended with this: “In Proverbs 24:11, it says, ‘Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.’
GOP, you were not elected to be silent on the life issue, so do your job by upholding the 14th and 5th Amendments, which protect every innocent human life. The greatest gift we have been given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is the gift of LIFE. Without life, we have no other rights.”
WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP until every child is protected!
