The sterilization and mutilation of children is not solely a choice presented in the media; it is an ideology pushed on children in classrooms and enforced by the government.
A Catholic family is facing an authoritarian nightmare in Massachusetts, where their daughter has been taken from them by the State so the State can force experimental treatments and surgeries on her, according to a report by the New York Post.
Joseph and Arlene Kutzko had their 17-year-old daughter, Sophie, taken by child protective services (CPS) in 2024 after the state agency assumed the parents would not affirm Sophie’s desire to identify as the opposite sex, according to the parents.
Sophie’s high school pushed LGBTQ teachings on their daughter in contradiction with their faith, the parents reported. The school eventually “counseled” Sophie to begin identifying as the opposite sex and to transition.
The most shocking part of this story is that the Kutzkos had no idea any of this was happening until their daughter was taken away by CPS.
“We didn’t find out until after Sophie was removed. It came on like a tornado,” Joseph Kutzko said.
Their daughter’s high school in Northborough, Massachusetts reported them to CPS without ever communicating with the parents.
Joseph Kutzko was arrested on false claims of physical abuse, and he was found not guilty in a court of law. Despite this, the parents have been barred from seeing their daughter, a decision that was “entirely the choice of this minor child,” according to their attorney.
Now, Massachusetts is attempting to put Sophie on sterilizing hormone treatments. To protect their daughter, the Kutzkos have relied on the Child and Parental Rights Campaign for legal support.
“They are fighting to keep Sophie from receiving high-dose testosterone, which doesn’t qualify as “ordinary” medical care and thus requires the consent of the parents or permission from the court, argued Child and Parental Rights Campaign attorney Vernadette Broyless,” reported the New York Post.
The parents have been successful in court, blocking the state from giving her experimental treatments — for now. Their attorney has argued that gender mutilation goes beyond general care the state is allowed to provide without parental consent, but a final hearing will decide if Sophie is protected by her parents or potentially sterilized by the state.
“The most important thing is to bring her back to our family, but a shorter-term goal is to prevent them from giving her testosterone,” said Sophie’s parents. “We’re begging the state, ‘Please, do not give our daughter testosterone.’”
Students for Life of America (SFLA) has been a leading voice in opposing the mutilation and sterilization of children and gender ideology in schools.
SFLA is currently hosting its second Wear the Truth Week, where students wear shirts provided for free by SFLA stating, “HUMAN AT CONCEPTION” and “SEX IS BINARY & UNCHANGEABLE” on their school campuses. Students are equipped with tools to engage in dialogue with their peers about why life is sacred and worth protecting, and why biology speaks louder than ideology.
Children are worthy of protection at every stage of life, from conception through their teenage years. SFLA will continue to defend life, biology, and Gospel truth.
