HELENA, MONTANA (02-25-2025) – Students for Life of America (SFLA) team members testifiy today before the House Judiciary Committee on a historic piece of legislation House Bill 555, the Clean Water For All Act, in Montana. The bill demands that abortion vendors take steps to protect all Montanans and the environment from the pathological medical waste of Chemical Abortion Pills – chemically-tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains flushed away.

Students for Life of America (SFLA)Pacific Northwest Regional Coordinator, Madeline Bowler, testifies about this novel legislation: “Following in Montana’s steps, SFLAction anticipates a ripple effect across pro-life states as the Pro-Life Generation (PLG) continues to expose the harms of Chemical Abortion Pills to our environment.
“The Clean Water For All Act stops forever chemicals from being flushed down toilets and require so-called abortion ‘doctors’ to dispose of baby remains rather than the woman experiencing the abortion,” said SFLAction President Kristan Hawkins. “This will make pill pushers and mothers think twice about Chemical Abortion Pills and look at the true consequences of this barbaric practice. SFLAction’s pushes to get HB 555 introduced and passed is part of our larger Make America Pro-Life Again Roadmap. Launched last November, this legislative package built upon the Gonzales v. Carhart case helps take down abortion at the state and federal level.
Bowler will note that the legislation is popular with young voters: “In fact, Students for Life of America’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement did a YouGov/Survey USA poll in January of registered voters from Gen Z and Y – now almost HALF of the electorate and not considered pro-life. 9 in 10 supported Red Bag medical waste disposal to protect the environment. This bill does exactly that.
