Students for Life Action urges the pro-life majority in the Florida legislature to quickly move to end abortion violence in the state.
In 2022, over 82,000 abortions were performed in Florida, and the state now ranks 5th overall in total abortions nationwide. Over the course of the last decade, Florida has transformed from a purple swing state to a Republican stronghold. Republicans now have a super majority, meaning there should be virtually no partisan obstacles to passing a Life at Conception Act, they simply must have the political will to do so.
While the state’s new Heartbeat law will prevent many abortions and save many babies facing abortion, we should not leave any children behind to the violence of abortion. Tens of thousands of babies still face abortion in Florida even with it’s passage. We should urge legislators to end abortion completely. Countless states have already ended abortion entirely, and several more across the south are poised to do so. To stop Florida from continuing to be a destination for abortion tourism, we must enact a Life at Conception Act to end abortion completely.
Every abortion ends a unique human life, one worthy of love and respect, and entitled to life and to be treated with dignity, and protected by law.
