On a mission to protect life in law, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) greatly appreciates pro-life legislators who prioritize life-affirming legislation — and much of that work comes from within the Senate Pro-Life Caucus, which SFLAction works alongside. We recently had the pleasure of attending a reception celebrating the changing of the chairmanship of the Senate Pro-Life Caucus from its founding chairman Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) to its incoming chairman Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), and we were delighted to commemorate the passing of the torch.
SFLAction remains grateful to Senator Daines for his dedication to the pro-life movement, including introducing the Protection Life on College Campus Act in the Senate. This bill was SFLAction’s first federally inspired bill introduced in Congress, a piece of legislation designed to serve pregnant and parenting womb, as well as the preborn, on college campuses. Most notably, however, Senator Daines gave the pro-life movement an anchor in the ever-changing tides of the Senate by creating the Pro-Life Caucus. This anchor holds us and gives us hope — it allows the pro-life movement to continue advancing as the Congressional changing of the guard continues.
Empowered by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, SFLAction and the Pro-Life Generation stand ready to fight for innovative and bold legislation at all levels of government that seeks to make abortion unthinkable and unavailable in our lifetime. We will protect life in both law and service, and we can’t wait to continue this important work alongside Senator Hyde-Smith and our pro-life champions in Congress.

Taking on the crucial mission of protecting life is not easy, but many hands make light work — and that’s where the entirety of the pro-life movement comes in. Pro-life legislators and citizens will continue to work together (through groups such as the Senate Pro-Life Caucus) until our task is accomplished, and abortion is abolished.
