The news is in, and Tim Walz is out as Minnesota governor. On Monday, after a publicity nightmare of a weekend, Walz announced he would be withdrawing his bid for re-election.
During Walz’s eight-year stint as governor, he’s achieved a slew of incredible feats, including:
- Legalizing cannabis
- Establishing so-called “gender-affirming care” as a “fundamental right”
- Establishing “ironclad reproductive freedom”—in other words, on-demand abortion access—across the state
All the above are touted as “signature accomplishments” on his gubernatorial website.

Aside from his ill-fated quest for the vice presidency—as part of Kamala Harris’s even more ill-fated 107-day presidential campaign—Walz is perhaps best known for earning the nickname “Tampon Tim,” a name he received for his part in enacting legislation meant to guarantee “trans students” access to menstrual products.
Notably, he also succeeded in overseeing $1 billion in fraud by Somalian refugees—a fatal mistake that proved the final nail in his political coffin.

Unsurprisingly, he won’t be missed. That is, except by Planned Parenthood.
In an Instagram post following Walz’s announcement, Planned Parenthood Minnesota proclaimed, “Thank you, Governor Walz, for showing up and fighting for reproductive freedom when it mattered most.”
“Day in and day out for nearly 8 years, Walz and dedicated members of his administration stood with Planned Parenthood helping them provide essential health care to tens of thousands of Minnesotans from across the state and the region,” the nation’s largest abortion vendor continued.
Well, Walz did stand with Planned Parenthood, but he did not stand with anyone else—and certainly not with pre-born children.
Under Walz’s watch, the state oversaw 13,729 abortions in 2024 alone. That’s enough to fill an entire town—and more. In fact, the number of babies killed in Minnesota in 2024 was larger than the number of residents in over 80% of U.S. towns/cities.
That means 13,729 deaths were thanks to Tim Walz and his horrific pro-abortion policies, including his signing into law a bill allowing abortion until the moment of birth—and his repeal of a law requiring that born-alive babies receive lifesaving treatment.
Under Walz’s regime, babies born alive after failed abortions can be left alone on a table to die. Nor is that mere hypothetical: In fact, state reporting showed at least 8 babies were stranded—and likely died—in that manner.
Walz’s solution? To stop reporting. He repealed the state law requiring born-alive babies to be documented—meaning countless more could have been left to die, and no one would be any the wiser.
Of course Planned Parenthood would be sad to see Walz leave—after all, they could stand to lose thousands of customers. But for everyone else, Walz’s departure in 2027 couldn’t come a moment too soon. His decision not to seek reelection could be the most life-saving choice he’ll ever make.
