Dominant VP Debate by Vance Showcases Walz’ Many Weaknesses – And that Abortion Lies are Still Going Unchallenged by the Media

Ohio Sen. JD Vance put on a clinic against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in what’s being regarded as one of the most one-sided political debates in modern times. Throughout the debate, Walz appeared shaky, nervous, unsure, and at times even seemed to be nodding along in agreement with his opponent. Vance, on the other hand, came off as composed, confident, and agile to difficult questions against a sometimes-hostile moderator’s table.

According to a recap by The NY Post, “Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stunned watchers of Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate as he nervously fidgeted, frowned and even called himself a “knucklehead” — while his Republican counterpart, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, gave a steady and lawyerly presentation and was widely seen as the victor.

The largely good-natured forum, hosted by CBS News, featured the two candidates agreeing with each other repeatedly and expressing warm personal sentiments — avoiding the blistering personal attacks that were part of both presidential debates earlier this year.

Walz, 60, who has honed a folksy demeanor on the campaign trail, was noticeably nervous and misspoke repeatedly as he wrung his hands, took frantic notes, and his eyes darted around the CBS studio.”

Of course, the topic of abortion was a large part of the evening’s conversation – and here are the more notable abortion moments during the debate:

WALZ TOLD THE SAME OLD LIE ABOUT INFANTICIDE IN MINNESOTA

Vance went on offense regarding abortion, calling out Walz for his policies as Governor, which led to the deaths of eight abortion surviving babies in his state. Data from his own Minnesota Department of Health and reporting from the National Review showed that “since Governor Walz was inaugurated in 2019, eight babies survived abortion attempts in Minnesota. On five occasions, no measures were taken to preserve life.”

This is a direct consequence of Walz’ decision to change the laws regarding abortion survivors. According to reporting by Axios, “A separate law signed by Walz changed a requirement that medical personnel seek to “preserve the life” of an infant who is born alive after an attempted abortion to say instead that they must “care” for the infant.”

And care is just a polite euphemism for pain reduction as the baby is left to die.

WALZ REPEATED THE FALSEHOODS ABOUT WHAT KILLED AMBER THURMAN

During the conversation about abortion, Walz did what the Democrats have been doing for weeks now: using the death of Ambert Thurman as an indictment against pro-life laws.

“She happened to be in Georgia, a restrictive state,” said Walz. “Because of that, she had to travel a long distance to North Carolina to try and get her care. Amber Thurman died in that journey back and forth.”

Vance rightly pointed out that Amber should still be alive, because there was nothing written into the laws of either North Carolina or Georgia that would’ve prevented her from getting lifesaving care. As reported in Fox News, “Georgia’s heartbeat law states that ‘no abortion shall be performed if the unborn child has a detectable human heartbeat except in the event of a medical emergency or medically futile pregnancy.’”

Unfortunately, Chemical Abortion Pills by nature are extremely dangerous. A full breakdown of the risks can be read about here at the Charlotte Lozier Institute: Fact Sheet: Risks and Complications of Chemical Abortion.

For this Georgia mother, an ultrasound before and after taking the pills could have provided life-saving information.

WALZ USED THE BIBLE TO JUSTIFY HIS POLITICAL VIEWS (yes, seriously)

Not content with lying about infanticide, Walz then used the Bible to justify his views on immigration. “I don’t talk about my faith a lot,” Walz said. “But Matthew 25:40 talks about ‘the least amongst us you do unto me.’ I think that’s true of most Americans!”

But preborn babies are among the least of these – and as we have covered extensively, Walz and other Democrat governors have expanded  or tried to expand abortion up to nine months.

VANCE SAID “THE GOP HAS TO EARN AMERICA’S TRUST BACK ON ABORTION”

The moment generated no shortage of confusion among the pro-life and right-wing commentators on Twitter, with several expressing dismay.

“We’ve got to do so much better of a job at earning the American people’s trust back on this issue where they frankly, just don’t trust us,” Vance said.

But the soundbites reactions were probably overblown, as Vance made the argument that he wants the GOP to be a pro-family party and that means supporting things like the Child Care Tax credit.
