This past Saturday, September 12th, Denver Pro-Life Future led an activism weekend to educate voters about Proposition 115 to end late-term abortion in Colorado. Chapter members knocked on 180 doors, successfully engaging in conversation and leaving pamphlets about the issue. Others from Denver Pro-Life Future set up a table at Washington Park. They provided information to people that approached the table. They had over 50 conversations and encountered several people that were excited to vote Yes on Prop 115 after talking to the group.
Halfway through the day, 3 opponents of Prop 115 showed up to protest in front of the table. The protestors were loud and aggressively yelling at the pro-lifers and anyone that approached the table. A few times other pro-choice people would come by the table. One person screamed; “If I get raped, I’m going to kill that baby, F*** that baby” and another said “I love killing babies”. Despite the hostility, Denver Pro-Life Future was able successfully educate many people about the bill that were motivated to take a stand for life.
Colorado is currently one of only 7 states that still allows abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy. If Prop 115 is passed, abortion will be banned at 22 weeks. As the first state to legalize abortion, this would be a major step forward in the right direction.
