As our nation commemorates the anniversary of the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade’s human rights atrocity of forcing “abortion” into our U.S. Constitution, U.S. Senate Republicans are drawing attention to a slate of pro-life bills that advance protections for mothers, children, families, and conscience rights. Given the abortion radicalism of Senate Democrats, the attempt is expected to fail, but without Roe in place, change is possible!

Through a series of unanimous consent requests, Republican Senators will highlight legislation that addresses some of the most pressing LIFE issues facing our nation. The bills serve as an important reminder that the work of restoring a culture of life did not end with Dobbs . . . it was just beginning.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) is especially proud to see the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, led by Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL), included among these efforts. The Pregnant Students’ Rights Act ensures that pregnant and parenting students receive information about the accommodations, resources, and protections available to them while at school. Too often, young women facing unexpected pregnancies are unaware of the support they can access while continuing their education. This commonsense legislation empowers women with information and affirms that no student should feel forced to choose between her education and her child.

Other pro-life pieces of legislation and their champions to be featured:

  • Sen. James Lankford’s Conscience Protection Act, protects healthcare professionals from being forced to participate in abortion-related procedures against their beliefs.
  • Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, ensures taxpayer dollars are not directed to abortion providers through the Title X program.
  • Sen. Katie Britt’s MOMS Act, connects women and families with resources and support during pregnancy and early parenthood.
  • Sen. Ted Budd’s Promoting Human Flourishing in Foreign Assistance Act, encourages U.S. foreign aid policies that promote human dignity and flourishing.
  • Sen. Steve Daines’ Protecting Individuals with Down Syndrome Act, addresses discrimination against children diagnosed with Down syndrome before birth.
  • Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith’s SAVE Moms and Babies Act, supports women and their children through life-affirming policies and resources.
  • Sen. Joni Ernst’s Protect Funding for Women’s Health Care Act, seeks to redirect federal healthcare funding away from abortion providers.
  • Sen. Jim Banks’ Forced Abortion Prevention and Accountability Act, addresses the tragic reality of coerced and forced abortions.

Together, these bills represent an important vision of what a post-Roe America can become, one that protects life, supports women, strengthens families, and upholds the dignity of every human person.

“The overturning of Roe was never the finish line,” notes SFLAction President Kristan Hawkins. “Dobbs gave Americans the opportunity to enact policies that support mothers and protect children. The legislation highlighted in the Senate this week demonstrates that the pro-life movement remains focused on advancing real solutions that save lives and serve families.”

As we reflect on the historic victory achieved in Dobbs, we are reminded that every generation is called to continue the work of protecting the vulnerable and empowering parents to succeed. Students for Life Action is grateful to the U.S. Senators who are advancing these efforts and proud to see the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act recognized among a growing list of policies that help build a culture where both women and their children can thrive.

The fall of Roe was a historic milestone. The work of creating a nation where every life is welcomed and protected continues, as we re-write the history of America with hope and a future for all.
