Students for Life Action Calls on Georgia’s Governor to Sign Measure Ending the Barbaric Use of the Broken Bodies of Aborted Babies for Research
“Georgia’s House and Senate worked together to cut off a profit stream to abortion vendors as well as to protect the dignity of the bodies of babies who died by deliberate and cruel abortions,” noted Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “We are asking Gov. Kemp to join them by signing a bill to stop research on those who lost their lives to abortion.”

ATLANTA, GA. (04-08-2026) — Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins celebrated the passage of the SFLAction-championed House Bill 1275 (HB1275) in the Georgia Senate, advancing by a vote of 48-0, after the House passed the bill 170-0. The House concurred on the Senate’s version of the bill, which is now being sent to the governor. If signed into law, HB1275 would stop testing for human stem cell therapy research from being conducted on preborn babies tragically killed in abortion, stopping Big Abortion from profiting further from the deaths of preborn babies in Georgia. Gov. Brian Kemp will have 40 days to sign or veto HB1275. If he does nothing, it will automatically become law.
“A compassionate response to human beings who were killed in abortions would never be to turn them over to profiteers who want to conduct research on them,” said Hawkins.
SFLAction has been active in the fight to preserve the dignity of children lost to abortion who are then used for research. LEARN MORE HERE: BATS, BABIES, & BEAGLES: All Good Reasons to #FireFauci … But Research with Broken Babies should Horrify Us All.
HB1275 defines human stem cell therapy, specifically stating that it “shall not include treatment or research using human cells or tissues that were derives from an aborted fetus or embryo.” To put it bluntly, any treatment or research using stem cells from the bodies of preborn babies tragically killed in abortion is not recognized as “human stem cell therapy,” thereby prohibiting the use of preborn children’s bodies in human stem cell therapy treatment and research.
According to a February Cygnal poll, Republican voters want action on pro-life legislation, with 32% stating they are less likely to vote in the upcoming midterms if they feel the GOP is not addressing abortion.
SFLAction is encouraging Georgians to join us in calling on the Georgia House to concur on HB1275 and on Gov. Brian Kemp to sign HB1275 into law to stop Big Abortion from further profiting from the deaths of preborn babies in Georgia.
