Kamala Harris Needs the “Male Gaze” to Win, But Men are Unattracted to Her Abortion Agenda

Since President Joe Biden disgracefully bowed out of the presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris is poised to take the Democrat nomination. However, regardless of who’s the Democrat nominee, abortion will continue to be center stage on the campaign trail as an attempt to not only obtain women’s votes, but men’s as well.

The border is a disaster, the economy is in shambles, and the Democrats essentially have no discernable victories to bring to the American people, only someone to blame and something to fearmonger.

They must attack abortion access and mourn preborn children getting a chance to live.

After all, Former President Donald Trump’s U.S. Supreme Court justice appointments did get the pro-life movement the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Despite Trump’s continuous insistence that he doesn’t want a federal abortion limit, it matters not to abortion-hungry Democrats. They have their pitch line: Trump reversed Roe, and now, he wants a federal abortion limit.

There’s just one problem with the Harris and Democrats attracting the “male gaze”: men aren’t as wooed by the abortion issue as women and haven’t been for decades. And, in this new “battle of the sexes” presidential race between Trump and Harris, the Democrats need every man they can get, even the types they hate.

But, is their primary strategy, abortion access or “reproductive rights,” as they call it, going to bring men to the polls for them? Even before Biden dropped out of the race, one Black pastor noted that Black men, a race that has one of the highest abortion rates, shied away from discussing abortion. Since Harris has (almost) taken over the Democrat nomination, they laser focused on abortion and men to win.

They need abortion to get the female vote and men to fill in the gaps. Statista and the Center for American Women and Politics reported that women have historically outvoted their male counterparts since the 1980s. Statistics from American Survey Center also show that abortion is far more of an issue for women than men. However, this isn’t a 2 + 2 = 4 situation. Women plus abortion doesn’t equal them all voting for the Democratic Party.

Sure, more women vote, but the tides are slowly turning away from the Democrats. According to a 2024 Pew Research Center poll, 44% of women lean Republican, 50% of married women lean Republican, and 47% of straight women lean Republican. Women with different sexual orientations and never-married women were far more likely to vote Democrat.

However, just as being a woman doesn’t mean an automatic Democrat vote, being Republican doesn’t necessarily mean against abortion. Another 2024 Pew Research Center poll found the following:

“Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (85%) overwhelmingly say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, with near unanimous support among liberal Democrats.

By comparison, Republicans and Republican leaners (41%) are far less likely to say abortion should be legal in all or most cases. However, two-thirds of moderate and liberal Republicans still say it should be.”

So, not all Republicans are 100% pro-life, which is consistent with their current GOP nominee, Donald Trump, who did indeed help reverse Roe. Still, he erroneously claimed that abortion is a state issue and not federal and should be allowed in cases of rape and incest.

While more abortion access tends to draw in women, it’s not the only thing that women are concerned about. Many women are self-proclaimed pro-life or identify with the Republican party for a myriad of reasons, whether it’s border policy, taxes, transgenderism and the list go on. The Democratic Party needs more than women who are mainly childless and unmarried.

They need men to win. But do men care enough about “reproductive rights” to switch from Republican to Democrat?

The data suggests not. It’s not just anecdotal evidence that suggests Black men are less likely to want to talk about abortion, but men. Only 46% of men follow the news on abortion, and six in 10 men believe that, according to a 2016 Pew survey, “the obstacles that once made it harder for women than men to get ahead are now largely gone.”

So, while women have increased their abortion support, men have not only been largely unmoved after over nearly 40 years but hold the belief that the gender gap is basically gone. She needs men to do a 180. Her recent and cringy attempts to recruit men with branded merchandise reading, “White Dudes for Harris.” Yet somehow, they still manage to shoot themselves in the foot.

Looking back at statistics, a large majority of straight men (55%) and married men (59%) lean Republican, which are the groups Harris needs to win. Instead, the “White Dudes for Harris” campaign is represented by none other than openly gay Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, who recently said in a “White Dudes for Kamala” interview that “men are also more free in a country where we have a president who stands up for things like access to abortion…”

Add that to the fact that 83% of homosexual men vote Democrat already, Buttigieg being a spokesperson to get more men to vote for Harris makes virtually no sense.

Abortion is the campaign wave Harris is riding, and family-loving, religious men see right through this desperate and cringe-worthy attempt to win them over to her. And even among the Black community in her political party, only 24% see abortion as the most critical issue. Students for Life of America (SFLA) sees the radical agenda of the Democrat party, and even The Wall Street Journal recently reported the following:

“Before President Biden ended his candidacy this month, Trump was winning support from a majority of men under age 30, according to a merger of Wall Street Journal polls in February and July. If that holds until Election Day, Republicans will win young men for the first time in more than two decades, voter exit polls show.” (emphasis added)

Kamala Harris shouting “abortion” isn’t a winning strategy to get the male vote, nor is alienating and villainizing normal, hardworking men nationwide. The mean girl vibes from the Democrat party and media calling vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance “weird” won’t work either.

He represents many good men across America, as he’s a family man, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and supporting commonsense legislation, like prohibiting federal funding to Planned Parenthood, abortion discrimination based on Down syndrome, and taxpayer-funded abortions.

Meanwhile, Harris is going on drag queen shows, has supported irreversible bodily mutilation for children, and allowed boys in girls’ spaces. Lastly, she can’t name a single abortion she doesn’t support.

No cringy campaign aimed at men will make up for that fact.
