Pro-Life Voters to Wyoming Governor: “You Broke it; You Fix it”

“Republican Governors, including Mark Gordon, made today’s mess with the judges they appointed, as pro-life laws were struck down by those who decided to legislate from the bench,” said Students for Life Action’s Kristan Hawkins. “Florida’s Ron DeSantis showed how to protect Life in law, by getting the money together to fight for LIFE when it was on the ballot in his state. Pro-life voters will demand the same from Gov. Gordon.  You broke it with your appointments; it’s your job to raise the money to fix it with a state constitutional amendment.”

CHEYENNE, WYO. (01-06-2026) – Two pro-life laws were blocked today, as the Wyoming State Supreme Court twisted a compassionate requirement for non-violent healthcare into a demand for vicious, late-term abortion. The AP reports that the Republican appointed justices noted that abortion was not written into a 2012 state constitutional amendment, but that didn’t stop them from allowing abortion to be penciled in by abortion industry lawyers. Left behind by the misuse of the law was the Life is a Human Right Act (HB0152), which declared preborn children’s human right to life and illegalized abortions, and Students for Life Action’s (SFLAction) own Prohibiting Chemical Abortions Act (SF0109), which illegalized the trafficking of Chemical Abortion Pills into Wyoming.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins said, “Once again, activist judges legislated from the bench, deciding that a measure passed to provide life affirming care actually demands death by abortion. But before any of the politicians who say they are pro-life can stand for the next election, they need to get to work to raise the funds needed for the constitutional amendment to correct this injustice. Wyomng should not be turned into New York or California. We will hold Gov. Gordan accountable to lead in Wyoming as Gov. DeSantis led in Florida.”

Wyoming’s Prohibiting Chemical Abortions Act was the first legislation of its kind passed in the nation. Chemical Abortion Pill trafficking into pro-life states has become a major issue in recent years, making this kind of legislation all the more important.

Gov. Gordon has already called for a constitutional amendment to be passed in the next budget session starting next month. “This ruling may settle, for now, a legal question, but it does not settle the moral one, nor does it reflect where many Wyoming citizens stand, including myself,” Gov. Gordon told the Associated Press. “It is time for this issue to go before the people for a vote.”

The Planned Parenthood-founded Guttmacher Institute reports that abortion is now allowed in Wyoming up to 24 to 26 weeks, six-and-a-half months into pregnancy, a barbaric practice that had been rejected in the Life is a Human Right Act.
