Washington, D.C. (06-20-2026) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins proudly awarded the work of five state legislators for their outstanding and unwavering work to protect Life in Law at Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) National Leaders Collective training. “Every year, after the legislative sessions come to a close, we take time at our National Leaders Collective to do something very important, we stop and we honor the legislators who never compromised or gave up on Life,” said Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins at the national training. “Students for Life has stood with these leaders in tough fights, sometimes with allies and colleagues. Pushing pro-life legislation can mean risking your re-election as sometimes unsupportive party leadership wants to ignore the Life issue, but these champions did not give up. From introducing SFLAction’s model ‘Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act’ legislation to defending pro-life state legislation from abolitionist attacks, these legislators set the standard for what it means to be a true fighter for Life.”
SFLAction honored the following lawmakers with Pro-Life Lifetime Achievement Awards:
Crosswhite Hader was a crucial part of passing SFLAction’s model legislation the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” in Oklahoma. Serving as the primary sponsor of the bill in the Oklahoma House, her persistent leadership & willingness to continue fighting alongside Senator Bullard saw the bill passed into law.
Olsen is another Pro-Life superstar from Oklahoma receiving recognition for his work to pass SFLAction’s model legislation, the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act.” He has worked with SFLAction since our organization’s inception to fight against Chemical Abortion Pills, the leading cause of abortions in America today. Not only did Rep. Olsen work to convince his fellow state House members to support the bill, but he personally convinced Oklahoma senators to hold a vote and pass this legislation. His efforts, despite the bill not even being his own, led to the bill being passed in the Senate with a 37 to 10 vote.

SFLAction also honored the following lawmakers with Pro-Life Champion Awards:
Bullard has tirelessly fought opposition to the introduction of SFLAction’s model legislation, the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act,” in Oklahoma’s Senate.Facing heat from pro-abortion and extremist, pro-prosecution abolitionist challengers, Senator Bullard never backed down and got that bill to a vote. Because of his tireless effort, SFLAction’s own Kristan Hawkins got to stand with him and Governor Kevin Stitt as Oklahoma became the first state in the nation to pass this piece of model legislation, protecting an estimated 4,000 babies every year from being aborted and thousands of women from dangerous adverse effects from Chemical Abortion Pills.
Cain is not only a fierce political champion for Life, but a Students for Life alumnus. Serving in the Texas House of Representatives since 2017, Rep. Cain was the co-sponsor of the SFLAction-inspired “Women and Child Protection Act,” a bill that faced great challenges. With Rep. Cain’s unwavering support for the bill, it was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott and is saving an estimated 10,000 or more babies a year in Texas from Chemical Abortion Pills. As a result of his leadership in Texas, SFLAction endorsed his run for Congress, and, while he did not prevail, his leadership for LIFE continues to receive attention.

Rose won his office in 2024, winning his election with the help of SFLAction, and he has proven himself to be true to the Pro-Life cause. He was the primary sponsor of SFLAction’s model legislation, the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act,” and his efforts successfully passed the bill out of the West Virginia Senate. While the House blocked the bill from continuing, he has not ceased the fight to protect preborn children and women from the dangers of Chemical Abortion Pills and the abusers who handle them.
SFLAction has been active in defending Life in West Virginia, Hawkins’ childhood home state.
“We know that when we ask these men and women to carry our legislation, we are asking them to do something hard,” said Hawkins at the award ceremony. “We do not take that lightly, not for one second. But for those who answer that call, and who go above and beyond in the fight to protect Life, we refuse to let their sacrifices go unrecognized or unappreciated.”
