Student activists canvassed for West Virginia Del. Chris Anders and Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, recording hundreds of voter conversations and nearly 60 activations.

“When students are willing to walk through pouring rain to talk with voters about protecting preborn babies, it sends a powerful message. The Pro-Life Generation shows up where elections are decided. From West Virginia to Pennsylvania, these conversations are about turning pro-life convictions into votes and holding elected leaders accountable for defending Life,” said Lane Koch, Vice President of Students for Life

WASHINGTON, D.C. (10-19-2026) – On October 10 -11, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) canvassed in Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, knocking on nearly 3,000 doors despite persistent rain and difficult weather. The outreach generated hundreds of voter conversations, including hundreds with voters expressing pro-life views and nearly 60 recorded activations (received SFLA literature and aligned with SFLA voting preferences). The efforts focused on supporting West Virginia state Del. Chris Anders and Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. Scott Perry ahead of the November 3 general election.

West Virginia: Door Knocking for Del. Chris Anders

In Martinsburg, students knocked on 1,600 doors; held more than 100 conversations, including more than 100 with pro-life voters; and recorded multiple activations. They also persuaded numerous voters to support pro-life candidate Del. Chris Anders, who is seeking re-election to West Virginia House District 97. Students from West Virginia University, the University of Maryland, and George Washington University participated as remnants of a hurricane brought rain throughout Sunday.

Anders, whom Students for Life Action has vetted and approved as a pro-life candidate, previously earned a 100% pro-life rating on the organization’s candidate survey and served as a primary sponsor of its model “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act.” In a separate account of the 2025 legislative session, SFLAction credited Anders with demanding a roll call vote on the House version of that legislation.

This latest canvass builds on SFLAction’s earlier voter education efforts involving Anders, including door knocking in West Virginia during the 2024 election cycle.

Pennsylvania: Supporting U.S. Rep. Scott Perry

In Harrisburg, students knocked on nearly 1,300 doors; held more than 100 voter conversations, including more than 100 with pro-life voters; and recorded more than 50 activations while canvassing for U.S. Rep. Scott Perry. Perry is seeking re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, in the November 3, 2026, midterm elections. He is running against Democrat Janelle Stelson, a former television news anchor whom he defeated in 2024.

Students from Juniata College, West Chester University, and Drexel University joined the deployment. Heavy rain, wind, and standing water made reaching doors difficult, but the team continued its outreach.

One student walking between homes in the rain was approached by a motorist who stopped to check on her. After she explained the canvass and discussed the importance of protecting preborn babies, the man expressed support for the candidate she was promoting.

Students also met an adoptive family who described how their daughter joined their family after her birth mother chose Life. The family expressed appreciation for Students for Life and its campus work. Another volunteer, who had joined a Students for Life group at West Chester University only a week earlier following a Lydia Taylor Davis campus event, participated in the door knocking.

An international student from the United Kingdom attending Juniata College described the experience as an introduction to American grassroots pro-life organizing. It was his first door-knocking deployment.
