WASHINGTON D.C. (07-21-2024) – Following news that President Joe Biden is ending his pursuit of a second term, Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins made the following statement:
“The most pro-abortion President in U.S. history, a self-proclaimed Catholic who betrayed his faith and Church on the LIFE issue, leaves the national stage in disgrace. But anyone who thinks that any successor will be an improvement hasn’t been paying attention. While the radically pro-abortion Vice President Harris waits in the wings, many other Democratic Party contenders have been discussed as possible replacements, all who embrace President Biden’s abortion views and worse. The radical abortion agenda of the Biden Administration has been accomplished with extremists in key roles, a lesson to the GOP that personnel is policy.
“It hasn’t just been the word-salad skills from Harris on the campaign trail that’s moved that cruel and empty agenda of abortion on-demand forward. Key appointments like Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, Attorney General Merritt Garland, and Food & Drug Administration head Dr. Robert Califf, and even Department of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin have weaponized policy and taxpayer-funded programs to force abortion-supporting policies throughout of federal government. And they have sanctioned attacks on the conscience rights of pro-life Americans who objected to ending innocent life for the Democratic Party’s political and kill-as-many-babies-as-possible agenda.
“They are only a few of those committed to ending life in the womb as all that the Left has to offer, and those lining up to take Biden’s place have rushed to the microphone time and time again to pledge even more support for abortion-on-demand. Rather than address the problems leading to human suffering, many of which they have caused, the Democratic Party targets innocents who they say might suffer, from the top of the ticket to the down ballot races. The Republican Party must step up to end the prejudice against pro-life Americans and children in the womb, which has been integral to the Biden-Haris Administration and must stand strong in opposition to that agenda and in defense of the least of these.
