“Rep. Andy Ogles has been a tireless advocate for preborn life and a fighter against the dangers of deadly Chemical Abortion Pills, which expose women and girls to injury, infertility, and death, as well as empowers abusers, and allows abortion water pollution. His leadership in confronting these issues has earned the loyalty of the Pro-Life Generation,” said SFLAction Vice President of Media & Policy Kristi Hamrick, of Tennessee. “Students for Life Action was proud to educate voters Rep. Ogles’ amazing record on behalf of mothers and their children, born and preborn.”

NASHVILLE (08-02-2024) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) congratulated U.S. House of Representatives Member Andy Ogles (TN-5) on his primary win tonight, after a digital voter engagement campaign in the district to raise awareness on his work supporting pro-life legislation and defending preborn lives.
A Tennessee resident in Ogles’ district, SFLAction Vice President of Media & Policy Kristi Hamrick noted: “Rep. Ogles understands the abortion radicals in the Biden Administration better than most, from the White House right down to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). Rep. Ogles’ fight against Chemical Abortion Pills represents one of the strongest efforts waged against the pro-abortion lobby, and we’re glad to raise awareness of his stellar work to the voters in his district, especially as his opponent callously said that she had no intention of addressing the human rights issue of our day — abortion.”
During this campaign, SFLAction sent over 22,000 texts and made calls to educate voters about the two key pieces of pro-life legislation that Rep. Ogles sponsored and introduced during the 118th Congress, including:
- H.R.5806, The Ending Chemical Abortions Act of 2023 , which if passed and signed into law would restrict Chemical Abortion Pill use except for when medically necessary to save a woman’s life.
- H.R.8985, The Preventing Forced Abortions Act of 2024, which if passed and signed into law would prevent federal courts from enforcing surrogacy contract clauses that require women to get abortions if they do not want to. The law would also ensure the child’s parents are required to pay the surrogate any compensation promised, even if she refuses to get an abortion at their request.
Chemical Abortion Pills are the most common form of abortion in America, now making up more than six-in-ten abortions, according to data from the pro-abortion Alan Guttmacher Institute. Additionally, the No Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills exposes women to face injury, infertility, death, and abusers alone, without any direct medical assistance or supervision if received by mail.
As a result, some young women have died, as even the FDA reports, and a lawsuit has been filed in Nevada because the Chemical Abortion Pills sold by a Planned Parenthood abortion vendor reportedly contributed to a young woman’s death.
“The pills are clearly deadly to preborn babies and exceptionally harmful to women,” said Hamrick. “The pills cause four times the complications as surgical abortion, with a risk of death that is ten times higher. But thanks to pro-life champions like Rep. Ogles, who cares for both preborn lives and their mothers too, we can finally deal with the number one means of abortion in America — deadly Chemical Abortion Pills.”
Rep. Ogles was also one of the highest scoring members of the Republican Party in our second annual Pro-Life Generation Report Card, receiving a perfect “A+” score.
