“We believe that Secretary Kennedy will take seriously the need to protect consumers and the environment from a hastily approved protocol that Big Abortion Pharma is pushing,” said Students for Life Action’s Kristan Hawkins. “Congratulations, Mr. Secretary.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (02-13-2025) – Following the confirmation vote of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) to be secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins made the following statement:
“There was a lot to appreciate in RFK Jr.’s testimony during the confirmation process. A highlight of RFK Jr’s very intense conversations with members of the U.S. Senate was the fact that he and President Trump see abortion as a tragedy and that they are looking at the real and deadly impacts of the abuse of agency power to force Chemical Abortion Pills on the market. Three Democratic Presidents pushed these pills on the market and then deregulated them, even as the death toll rose. And Big Abortion Pharma – Planned Parenthood and company – have richly rewarded their Democratic Party friends while going after President Trump. It’s time to put patient safety first, over the financial interests of a political friend of the Democratic Party.
“Chemical Abortion Pills kill, usually an infant in the womb, sometimes the women who take them, and now perhaps even the environment. The Biden-Harris Administration allowed chemically tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains from the vast majority of abortions to be flushed into our drinking water. The FDA and EPA have refused to look into the impact of these endocrine disrupters on our clean water and the people, plants, and animals that depend on it. We believe that RFK Jr. will take seriously the need to protect consumers and the environment from a hastily approved protocol that Big Abortion Pharma is pushing.
“President Trump’s agenda of ending the weaponized abuse of agency power and protecting crystal clear water dove tails with what Students for Life has said for years – that we need to go back to the drawing board and protect innocent life and our environment from the recklessly approved Chemical Abortion Pill protocol.”
