FAIRFAX, VA (09-27-2023) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) will be in Fairfax and Virginia Beach, Virginia this coming weekend, to rally support and to canvass for the upcoming November election. Staff and volunteers from SFLAction will be canvassing the area and conducting leadership training. This is one of many stops planned as part of the larger “Stop Abortion Extremism Tour” organized by SFLAction to push back against the Biden administrations brand of abortion extremism.
“Virgnia has a slate of great pro-life candidates that can move the needle for Life in this incredibly important swing state – the election in November could set the stage for what we see in the general election in this state in 2024,” said Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins. “Equally true is that some of the most radically pro-abortion Democrats in America, who even have ties to Marxist thinking, are running in Virginia. Currently, it has some of the worst abortion laws in the nation. But with a groundswell of voter turnout, we can create a pro-life Republican majority in the Virginia State Government and save lives.”
Virginia allows abortion beyond 25 weeks (around six months of pregnancy), sadly making it one of the most permissive in the nation. Some of the candidates in Virginia that are running to preserve this deadly status quo includes:
- Virginia State Senate incumbent Dr. Siobhan S. Dunnavant, who believes in unrestricted elective abortion until 15 weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for rape, incest, fetal anomalies, and life of the mother. Our team responded to this anti-life position in the Richmond-Times Dispatch.
- Susanna Gibson, candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, who aside from promoting extremist abortion positions, has experienced a troubled campaign because she was caught livestreaming herself having sex for “tips.” She was also endorsed by the late-term abortion advocate Governor Ralph Northam,
