Students for Life Action Launches Election Grassroots Push in Swing State of Florida with the Youth Vote – About One-Third of the Electorate

“This November, the Democrats will see if their all-in gamble on unrestricted abortion through all nine months is the winner they hope it is, as states like Florida face pro-abortion ballot initiatives that will put the lives of mothers and babies at great risk,” said Students for Life Action Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Jacobs. “The only vision offered to voters by Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz embraces abortion radicalism far worse than Roe, guaranteeing late-term abortion until the moment of birth. The more voters learn about this barbarism, the more they reject it – and that’s why we’re heading to Florida this week to fight for hope and a future for all Americans – including those yet to be born.”

ORLANDO, FL (10-14-2024) Students for Life Action (SFLAction) is deploying to critical swing states around the country educating voters on races up and down the ballot, as Democrats run under the banner of the most pro-abortion Presidential ticket in modern history.

From Oct. 19 to 20 in Celebration, Florida, SFLAction volunteers and staff will door-knock and engage voters, distributing literature about the candidates, and Florida’s Amendment 4, which would legalize abortion until birth in the Florida State Constitution.

The door knocking event begins at 10 a.m. local time. To get connected with the volunteers and staff on the ground, please email [email protected]

SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Jacobs said, “Florida voters need the facts about the pro-abortion ballot they’re facing this November. If successfully pushed forward, abortion without any limits through all nine months would become the law of the land in Florida. Democrats want this extremism in every state. However, we’re going to educate Florida voters about this barbaric law as well as on the candidates who will be called to fight for life in law and service in the state legislature. With millions of lives on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher; the Pro-Life Generation is mobilized and ready to fight for Life and defend pro-life leaders!”

Florida has been a hot spot for SFLAction lobbying, education, and advocacy activities for many years now. In 2024, this included:

  • Raising awareness and pushing for the passage of House Bill 1519, which would allow Florida women who illegally obtain pills out-of-state and then regret their abortions – which studies show are significant percentages of post-abortive women – to sue their abortionists.

  • Hosting a Lobby Day in Tallahassee in February, where students and staff engaged with lawmakers and their staff on HB1519, Life at Conception Act, which if signed into law would protect preborn life from the moment of conception.

  • Visiting Florida with a new VIDEO BILLBOARD TRUCK and hitting multiple cities and university campuses in Florida where SFLA President Kristan Hawkins and staff spoke with voters and recruited and trained young people.

  • Protesting Biden’s in Tampa in April, raising awareness around the Biden Administration’s abortion extremism and reckless regard of women’s safety through their No Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills. We also raised awareness on the Biden Administration’s environmental hypocrisy, as they champion government-sponsored, corporate dumping of the pathological medical waste of abortion into America’s water.

  • SFLAction volunteers and staff knocking on over 1,600 doors in Naples, Florida, from June 1-2. We raised awareness around the impact of the limitless abortion ballot initiative that voters could be facing in November, part of a larger nationwide “Decline to Sign” and “Just Vote No”

Recently, SFLAction kicked off a brand-new advertising campaign, the Democrats for Infanticide Campaign, showcasing the Democrats’ comfort with the barbarism of late-term abortion and even infanticide, which includes a national TV commercial and a digital launch in Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.

There are 12 states where SFLAction will be primarily focusing this election cycle because of previous primary wins for critical legislative seats, the presence of a hotly contested U.S. Senate race involving a strong pro-life candidate, or a pro-abortion ballot initiative threatening preborn lies in the state. These states include:

  • Arizona
  • Florida
  • Michigan
  • Montana
  • Missouri
  • North Carolina
  • New Hampshire

SFLAction recently launched its own abortion ballot initiative campaign, Abortionballot.com, featuring state specific information, resources, and messaging kits for the “Vote No” campaign. This fall, 10 states will be facing down pro-abortion ballot initiatives that if successful would enshrine and expand abortion to unrestricted levels, through all nine months, for any reason up until birth.
