In Kristan Hawkins’ Home State, after months of grassroots action, thousands of doors knocked, and hundreds of thousands of voters reached, the Pro-Life Generation’s relentless grassroots activity pays off at the ballot box!

“Since Roe collapsed, the abortion lobby has spent millions trying to use ballot initiatives to manufacture state constitutional ‘rights’ to end innocent human life. But we fought back. The Pro-Life Generation went directly to voters: on their campuses, at their churches, and at their front doors. Our win in Idaho shows that when you fight to protect life without the political games, we can win,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (11-04-2026): Students for Life of America (SFLA) and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) are celebrating a major victory for preborn babies in Idaho. Voters rejected efforts to expand or constitutionalize abortion and supported protections for Life. Students for Life’s 2026 “Abortion on the Ballot” campaign mobilized the Pro-Life Generation through door knocking, campus activism, church engagement, voter education, billboard trucks, highway overpass banners, and digital outreach. “With more than 1,700 groups in all 50 states, Students for Life represents the ground game for protecting innocent babies and their mothers in Law and in Service. We did the work, and we are celebrating the victory in my home state of Idaho, achieved by winning one voter at a time,” said SFLA/SFLAction President Kristan Hawkins.

SFLACTION’S BALLOT INITIATIVES ENDEAVORS REPRESENT YEARS OF WORK & ONE MESSAGE — LIFE WINS WHEN WE SHOW UP

Idaho became a major focus of our 2026 campus field efforts. Across the board, SFLAction’s 2026 ballot initiative operation spanned approximately 10 months and represented an estimated organizational investment of more than $350,000 across the four states.

Our targeted digital advertising around all ballot work, including Idaho Proposition 1, sparked more than 20,000 pro-life pledges in the four states.

Our strategy was straightforward: Go where voters are. Students for Life activists knocked on doors, engaged churches, organized students, distributed literature, and brought the pro-life message directly into communities. The abortion lobby put Life on the ballot. The Pro-Life Generation answered. And last night, Life won.

IDAHO: PRO-LIFE VOTERS REJECT PROPOSITION 1

The home state of SFLA’s President pushed back against pro-abortion extremism. Idaho voters defeated Proposition 1, stopping an initiative that would have created a statutory right to abortion before fetal viability and would have allowed abortions after viability under specified circumstances. Idaho’s existing ”Defense of Life Act“ remains in effect.

Students for Life brought its spring campus tour and billboard truck stop tour to Idaho, followed by campus tabling, church engagement, highway overpass banners, and door knocking in Coeur d’Alene, Boise, and Idaho Falls. To accomplish this, Students for Life conducted 4 statewide trainings to prepare 106 activists to get out the pro-life vote in Idaho.

Our activists knocked on over 13,000 doors and deployed our billboard truck tour throughout the state. In addition, we hosted 5 campus tour displays that changed minds toward our pro-life message. Read about the multi-state campaign here.

During the Coeur d’Alene deployment alone, volunteers knocked on nearly 3,000 doors, held hundreds of conversations, recorded nearly 100 voter activations, and distributed their entire supply of yard signs.

Because of our work, Idaho voters rejected Proposition 1.

IN OTHER ELECTION NEWS — SFLACTION’S 2026 LEGISLATOR ENGAGEMENT: Ahead of the November 3 general election, SFLAction unleashed a nationwide grassroots campaign, sending students and volunteers door-to-door to educate voters about candidates’ records and abortion-related measures on the ballot. Since January 1, our grassroots army has knocked on nearly 75,000 doors, with almost 30,000 targeted voter interactions. Our pro-life activists also sent nearly a million personal texts and more than half a million emails since the start of the year.

In the general election, we then deployed 216 student volunteers across nine states, knocking on nearly 60,000 doors and generating over 20,000 targeted voter conversations. We also brought candidates’ abortion records directly to communities through our church-flyering program, reaching 100 churches and tens of thousands of congregants in targeted communities with information about where candidates stood on abortion. At the same time, our nationwide billboard truck traveled across the country, stopping in every major battleground state race to put candidates’ abortion records on display.

NEXT STEPS — OUR LEGISLATIVE TRACK RECORD: SFLAction has introduced and helped pass pro-life laws since Roe fell, and has now worked in 36 states, passing 47 bills, with a state power base of more than 1,700 groups in all 50 states, along with more than 250,000 trained grassroots advocates. Committed pro-life voters represent the ground game of legislative results. Of the 47 bills, 14 were SFLAction measures, and 33 were SFLAction-inspired efforts.

At the federal level, SFLAction has championed six unique bills and inspired a “Life at Conception Act” to provide legal protections from the beginning of human life. Abolishing abortion is our goal and protecting innocent life today is our mission.
