On May 12th, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) hosted an emergency webcast to rally support for keeping Planned Parenthood defunded in the new reconciliation bill.
Last year, the U.S. Congress passed the “Big, Beautiful” Budget Bill, which defunded Planned Parenthood and other abortion vendors of federal dollars for an entire year. Now, that time will be running up — and on America’s 250th birthday, of all days.
Students for Life could not sit idly by and let that happen.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins announced a national, emergency webcast to rally grassroots activists to demand that President Trump, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, and U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune craft a new reconciliation bill that fixes the problem of Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion getting access to hundreds of millions of tax dollars on America’s 250th birthday. That unfortunate deadline was set when President Trump signed the “Big, Beautiful” Budget Bill last year on July 4, leading to a crisis right before the mid-terms.
. . . “The extraordinary chain of events that led to a new reality — one in which everyone knows that Planned Parenthood and their predatory allies CAN be cut off from taxpayer funding, with the money going to real healthcare providers — needs to be repeated. Pro-Life voters are watching to see whether they will get a return on investment in the Trump Administration and the GOP,” said Hawkins. “And if Republicans don’t want to vote on Planned Parenthood spending, then debarment is the solution.”

Since the beginning of the Trump Administration calls to end taxpayer support of abortion vendors have been raised nationwide. Last year, at this exact time, a Capitol Hill event included leaders from all walks of life, dedicated to seeing healthcare spending to go to those who work to protect all their patients.
SFLAction will not stop fighting for the defunding and debarment of Planned Parenthood and all abortion vendors until Life is protected across America.
