What DID Taylor Swift See in the Presidential Debate? Fact-Checking Kamala Harris’ on Abortion – With ONE Thing Very Clear

Armed with the scant information available about Vice President Kamala Harris’ political views, known political commentator and songsmith Taylor Swift took a break from football to weigh in with her endorsement of the Democratic Party ticket, moved she said by the debate and exhorting her following to do some research to reach their voting decision. Given the reality that the only thing clear last night about Harris’ record is that she LOVES abortion and seems to hate the entire agenda of the administration she helped lead, a fact check of the one policy she cogently and deceptively embraced is in order.

While the ABC questioners went out of their way to push back on former President Donald Trump for … everything, Harris got a free pass.

So, let’s return to the scene of the messaging crime to examine just what was said … or ignored, as the case may be.

KAMALA IS NOT FOR “CODIFYING ROE” … SHE WANTS MORE.

Harris said, “ I absolutely support reinstating the protections of Roe v. Wade.” But the fine print in what she ALSO said she supports – the poorly named “Women’s Health Protection Act” – goes radically further in attempting to force a federal absolute of abortion through all nine months, with taxpayer funding, and without conscience protections for those who don’t want to submit. In the Senate, she was a co-sponsor of the bill that goes far past the tyranny of Roe. The Women’s Health Protection Act – better named the Women’s Health Endangerment Act – puts abortion without limits into law AND attacks a state’s right to pass pro-life protections.

KAMALA IS FOR INFANTICIDE.

In fact, Harris opposed requiring medical care for babies born during abortions. She voted against a measure that, if moved forward, would provide humane treatment of infants in the hands of abortionists. She said that if such care was provided to infants whose lives were not ended by abortion – “extreme” to her – that compassion would “further jeopardize the right to reproductive health care in our country.”

We know that babies have been born after abortions. Melisa Ohden is a case in point, along with others highlighted in the Almost Aborted ad campaign, which tells powerful stories of survivors. Harris’ VEEP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, allowed his state to HIDE the records of children left to infanticide after surviving abortions. In fact, according to data from his own Minnesota Department of Health and reporting from the National Review , “since Governor Walz was inaugurated in 2019, eight babies survived abortion attempts in Minnesota. On five occasions, no measures were taken to preserve life. ”

KAMALA IS EVERYTHING CORPORATE ABORTION COULD HOPE FOR, DENYING WELL-DOCUMENTED FACTS ABOUT ALL 50 STATES PROTECTING THE LIFE OF THE MOTHER.

As the Associated Press (AP) reported, Kamala Harris gives abortion rights advocates the debate answer they’ve longed for in PhiladelphiaShe mischaracterized Trump’s point of view while claiming he would “make it criminal for a doctor or nurse to provide health care,” threaten women with prison time, among other fairy tales. No such state or federal effort like that exists … and in fact, SAVING THE LIFE OF THE MOTHER is the law in all 50 states.

Students for Life Action has debunked this media farce often, noting:

“This has been fact-checked and proven by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) who state, ‘(E)very state has an exception that allows for an abortion needed to save the life of the pregnant person.’ The AAMC goes even further to say, ‘To date, no physician has been criminally prosecuted in any state for providing an abortion that was due to a medical emergency.’

“An article by the Charlotte Lozier Institute goes on to cite legal scholar Paul Linton who found that “there has never been a physician prosecuted or disciplined for an abortion that fell within the scope of the ‘life-of-the-mother” exception.’ The word ‘never’ is a strong one, but it’s fitting; after examining the years preceding Roe v. Wade, the nearly 50 years under Roe, and the months since the Dobbs v. Jackson decision, no such prosecutions were found.”

KAMALA LIES ABOUT LATE-TERM ABORTION … A LOT.

Harris claimed, “Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion … That is not happening. It’s insulting to the women of America.”

But witnesses tell a different story. The Almost Aborted campaign highlights people who survived, something even our own government acknowledges.

As reported in The Federalist: “Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, however, shows that thousands of abortions are performed after 21 weeks’ gestation. The CDC’s findings do not include reporting from at least four abortion-friendly states (California, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey), which suggests the number of late-term abortions in the U.S. is likely much higher.”

The issue is not whether every abortionist will end a viable baby’s life but whether it’s legal in the U.S. and whether some viable babies do survive.

ABC got into the fake news business as well, as FOX observed in a headline:  ABC’s Linsey Davis raises eyebrows with abortion fact-check against Trump: ‘Completely interjects herself.’ Reporter Linsey Davis falsely said, as she attempted to chastise Trump, “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born.”

Are you sure about that? Students for Life Action has noted:

MINNESOTA ALLOWS ABORTION UNTIL BIRTH

In 2022, the Minnesota Press was quite eager to pretend that Gov. Walz’s abortion positions weren’t as extreme as some were making them out to be. Commentary posted to the Minnesota Reformer said, “Likely Republican nominee Scott Jensen, who supports banning abortion, falsely said Gov. Tim Walz holds the view that abortion should be permitted “up-to-the-moment-of-birth.” “Late-term, nine-month abortions championed by Tim Walz are not Minnesota values,” Jensen’s statement in response to the Supreme Court decision.”

However, independent media fact-checkers found this wasn’t true at all – KHARE11 News found in 2024 that the law does indeed allow abortion until birth, “The statute does not include any specific prohibitions on abortions at any stage of pregnancy.”

KAMALA SUPPORTED STERILIZING SURGERIES … FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS … ON YOUR DIME.

As reported by the New York Post: “CNN host Erin Burnett appeared surprised that Vice President Kamala Harris had at one point indicated that she supported ‘taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for detained illegal migrants’ — a far cry from the more centrist positions she has staked out during the current presidential campaign.”

Is that because a big Democratic Party backer – Planned Parenthood – has gotten into the business of “transitioning”? Read more here: Planned Parenthood Isn’t on the Way Out, It’s Transitioning to Gender-Bending: The Federalist

And if Harris wants such surgeries for illegal immigrants, what does she want for America’s children?

KAMALA MAY HAVE CHANGED HER MIND OF FRACKING, TAXES, AND JOE BIDEN … BUT SHE IS LOYAL TO ONE THING – ABORTION.

If there is ONE issue that’s held her career-long interest, it’s abortion.  You can learn a lot about her attacks on pro-life Americans, Catholics, and political opponents on our website.
