“Chemical Abortion Pills are sold by illegal operations outside the country with the goal that every time they are used, someone dies. And yet, pill pushers receive every benefit of the doubt, including today, as Justice Alito allows pill traffickers and big pharma to operate temporarily while arguments are sent to the Court,” said Students for Life Action’s Kristan Hawkins. “Our default should be to protect life at all costs, not shelter abortion vendors operating in violation of the Comstock Act.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (05-04-2026) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins made the following remarks, following news that Justice Alito has granted temporary relief to Danco Laboratories, which makes mifepristone, and GenBioPro, which makes a generic version. The hold is until May 11 as the Supreme Court considers the case.
Hawkins noted: “The tragedy of Chemical Abortion Pill distribution is that preborn babies die while we argue about how the abortion lobby and big pharma might be hurt. That is moral insanity. Enforcement of the Comstock Act is step one for Trump Administration’s Department of Justice, but we certainly hope they will fight more fiercely as Trump’s Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has slow walked a real review of deadly Chemical Abortion Pills.”
