Democrats have taken the principle of “separation of church and state” — written by Thomas Jefferson in a letter to the Danbury Baptists with disputed interpretations — out of context for years to insist Christians and their values have no place in civic life.
Now, Democrats are actively supporting politicians who want to force their religion on others. Except it’s not Christianity; it’s radical Islam.
Michigan Democrats selected Abdul El-Sayed to be their U.S. Senate candidate this fall, a man who once declared that he has an “obligation” to follow Sharia Law.
“Sharia, or Islamic religious law, sets strict rules for living that include harsh restrictions on women and gruesome, medieval-era forms of criminal justice,” reports The Washington Free Beacon.
Sharia law is known for governing radical Islamic countries like Afghanistan that force women to cover their entire bodies or face violent consequences, something that doesn’t line up with the Democrats’ feminist agenda.
In 2009, El-Sayed was interviewed by The New York Times, where he stated his dedication to this archaic practice.
“Ultimately, the question is, when I die and I stand before God and go through everything I did in my life, I don’t want to say I did it the easy way instead of the Shariah-compliant way. Not because of fear but because of obligation,” said El-Sayed.
El-Sayed also faced controversy over his choice to campaign with Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, who said in a livestream that America “deserved 9/11.” The Democratic Senate candidate claimed to disagree with Piker’s statements but pushed off the criticism as “cancel culture.” Add on his bookshelf full of terrorist propaganda, and El-Sayed’s ideological foundations become crystal clear.
While he pushes traditional woke messaging with vague statements of wanting “to try and be a better person,” the American people must ask: what exactly does that mean to El-Sayed given his past statements?
There is some disagreement among Muslim populations on how Sharia law is to be implemented, but El-Sayed’s perspective on the matter is rather obvious. Even in 2022, he was advocating against a ballot measure to ban Sharia law in Oklahoma, equating it to the Trail of Tears, reports The Washington Free Beacon.
All of this has gone ignored by the “separation of church and state” Democrat crowd. Do we expect it to be addressed? No. In fact, we expect it to be embraced.
Anything that contradicts orthodox Christianity is popular with Democrats, even if that means supporting someone who uses the label of Christian. That includes James Talarico of Texas, the pro-trans Democratic Senate candidate who claims Jesus was nonbinary, gay marriage is biblical, and aborting preborn children is holy.
This embrace of false gospels is a strong reminder that our battle in the pro-life movement is not just political, not just cultural, but spiritual. The same party whose last presidential candidate told someone who yelled “Christ is King” that they were “at the wrong rally” is embracing figures like El-Sayed and Talarico for the same reason: to oppose Christ, the way, the truth, and the life.
That’s why Students for Life of America (SFLA), a registered religious organization, works to change hearts, minds, and souls to reject abortion culture and embrace life through not just science, logic, and emotion, but devout faith.
All lives were created in the image of God, and SFLA will not stop until all lives are cherished as He loves us — starting with preborn children in the womb.
