Beyond all the noise from Democratic Socialists about “affordability,” social programs, and billionaires “paying their fair share” lies a radical abortion agenda that none of them, not even their politicians, want to address publicly.
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is “the largest socialist organization in the United States, with over 95,000 members,” according to their website.
“Capitalism is a system designed by the owning class to exploit the rest of us for their own profit,” says the DSA website. “We must replace it with democratic socialism, a system where ordinary people have a real voice in our workplaces, neighborhoods, and society.”
This system, however, insists the only way for people to succeed is through self-described “radical” reforms to the American government and way of life. They call for government control of everything from production to transportation to healthcare, as well as the mass defunding of police.
Their list of priorities includes a section called “Trans Rights and Bodily Autonomy,” linking together the two major child-targeting issues of our time, like Planned Parenthood does, while somehow making these concepts part of the class warfare that fuels their ideology.
As stated in the DSA’s Labor for Trans Rights & Bodily Autonomy Toolkit:
Attacks on trans people and abortion rights are not a distracting ‘culture war,’ but a critical terrain of class war, particularly against hyperexploited trans workers and public-sector employees, such as teachers.
. . .
Like race and class, gender is used to divide and exploit labor under capitalism… [i]n this way, protecting transgender workers and those seeking abortion care also empowers all workers to control our bodies and determine our futures.
There are obvious problems with this concept. How can the DSA claim to care about bodily autonomy while simultaneously violating the bodies of preborn children? The DSA cannot claim to stand up for workers while pushing to end the lives of future workers.
Yet this idea is still quietly pushed by DSA politicians in the circles that benefit them and through their votes. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), or AOC, a leading member of the DSA, received a perfect voting-record score from Reproductive Freedom for All — formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America and known for lying about the rate of women dying from back-alley abortions to get support for legalizing abortion. AOC voted against a bill to protect children born alive in attempted abortions and voted for abortion to be covered by taxpayer dollars.
As a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, the congresswoman has called on President Joe Biden to use federal lands in red states to open abortion facilities to evade their pro-life laws, calling limits on abortion a “brutal form of oppression.”
“Abortion bans aren’t just about controlling women’s bodies,” wrote AOC in an X post in 2019. “They’re about controlling women’s sexuality. Owning women.”
This mindset continues with new DSA stars taking over the Democratic Party. Abdul El-Sayed just won the Democratic primary in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race despite his open Islamic terrorist sympathies. He pushes the same NARAL-created lies that endorsed AOC.
“We all know it’s not that abortions don’t happen when women don’t have access to a legal abortion; it’s that they happen in far more dangerous circumstances, and we cannot allow that to happen because it puts women’s lives at risk,” El-Sayed said in an interview with the far-left news outlet Pride Source.
El-Sayed is currently polling higher than his general election opponent, pro-life Republican Mike Rogers.
However, this popularity is not the norm for the DSA. As reported by The Wall Street Journal:
Although the presidential election is more than two years away, the available evidence supports common sense: If the presidential election were held tomorrow, a Democratic nominee who identifies with democratic socialism would fare badly. Fifty-four percent of registered voters in a recent Washington Post-Ipsos poll said they wouldn’t even consider voting for such a candidate, including 54% of independents and 20% of Democrats. But according to a recent CBS/YouGov survey, 58% of Democrats view socialism favorably, compared with 35% of the electorate as a whole. This gap could lead Democrats to nominate a candidate well outside the national mainstream.
This makes sense when the public’s position on abortion is considered. A January 2026 poll from Students for Life of America’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement found that less than 1 in 10 youth voters support the Democrats’ abortion-until-birth and infanticide agenda.
Voters want legal limits on abortion that Democrats — especially the Democratic Socialists of America they are embracing — will not provide.
