Students for Life Action mobilizes students to oppose Idaho Proposition 1 and support Missouri Amendment 3

“The abortion lobby has spent millions trying to convince Americans that abortion is inevitable, but our students are proving that minds can still be changed one conversation at a time. In Idaho and Missouri, the Pro-Life Generation is taking the fight directly to voters’ doorsteps, challenging abortion misinformation and building the support needed to protect preborn babies at the ballot box.” said Lane Koch, vice president of Students for Life Action.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (10-21-2026) — On October 17-18, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) mobilized students and volunteers for Abortion on the Ballot (AOTB) door-knocking deployments in Boise, Idaho, and St. Charles, Missouri, reporting more than 16,000 doors knocked, nearly 1,000 voter conversations, and close to 100 minds changed in favor of SFLA candidates. The campaigns focused on opposing Idaho’s Proposition 1 and supporting Missouri’s Amendment 3 ahead of the November 3 general election.

Across both deployments, volunteers reported nearly 600 voter activations (voters who took a measurable pro-life action as a direct result of a door-to-door conversation) and distributed more than 100 yard signs.

BOISE, IDAHO: STUDENTS OPPOSE PROPOSITION 1

Twenty-one students from Brigham Young University, Cole Valley, Seattle Pacific University, and Brigham Young University–Idaho participated in the Boise deployment opposing Proposition 1. The measure would establish abortions before fetal viability and permit abortions after viability in specified medical emergencies.

The Boise, ID, deployment accomplished:

  • Almost 4,000 doors knocked
  • Nearly 300 voter conversations, including hundreds of reported pro-life conversations
  • Multiple minds changed
  • Close to 300 voter activations
  • 50 yard signs distributed

Many high school students were knocking on doors for the first time and grew more confident throughout the day. Volunteer Marisa spoke with a voter concerned about maternal health, sharing her own story of being conceived through in vitro fertilization and emphasizing care for both mother and child. Another student group discussed abortions later in pregnancy with a Democrat candidate for attorney general.

“Yeah it’s been a fun experience and I feel like we’ve been really impactful. Changed some people’s minds and made them aware of the prop,” said volunteer Jonathon.

ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI: 60 STUDENTS REACH MORE THAN 12,000 DOORS

In St. Charles, 60 students from 15 schools supported Amendment 3 and incumbent U.S. Rep. Bob Onder. If approved, Amendment 3 would repeal the pro-abortion amendment adopted in 2024, allow additional regulation of abortion, and establish specified exceptions.

The St. Charles, MO, deployment accomplished:

  • More than 12,000 doors knocked
  • Nearly 600 voter conversations, including close to 500 reported pro-life conversations
  • 60 minds changed
  • More than 300 voter activations
  • 75 yard signs distributed

Volunteers reported speaking with voters who reconsidered their positions after discussions about the amendment’s provisions. One voter who initially opposed Amendment 3 indicated he would probably support it after a conversation about its exceptions. Students also reported positive encounters, including a couple who hugged the high school volunteers, as well as one encounter in which police responded to a resident’s complaint about political canvassing.

“Our team was able to share with thousands of people the truth about Amendment 3, what it would mean for the state of Missouri, and how it would protect both babies and women,” said volunteer Nicole Hollman. “In an election season where many people get confused or overwhelmed by the constant ads and lies from the other side, we are able to calmly and honestly answer their questions and simplify why it’s a no-brainer to vote Yes on 3!”

PRO-LIFE GENERATION MOBILIZES AHEAD OF ELECTION DAY

With abortion-related measures on the November 3 ballot in Idaho and Missouri, SFLAction continues to mobilize student activists for direct voter engagement and efforts to protect preborn babies. The weekend’s field reports recorded 73 changed minds, 587 activations, and more than 16,000 doors knocked.

And our work in Idaho is far from over. Students for Life Action will return to the Gem State this upcoming weekend, October 24–25, for another round of door-to-door canvassing, with Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins joining students and volunteers on the ground. Building on our recent efforts in Boise, this final weekend push will bring our team back into Idaho communities ahead of Election Day.
