Student activists recorded more than 50 voter activations and 60 pro-life conversations in Guilford County, building on SFLAction’s successful primary effort that resulted in the unseating of longtime Senate leader Phil Berger.
“Phil Berger lost his primary by just 23 votes, proving that grassroots engagement can change the direction of politics,” said Students for Life Action Vice President Lane Koch. “Now, our students are back in Guilford County, knocking on nearly 2,000 doors to help elect Sam Page and send a clear message to Raleigh: The Pro-Life Generation expects lawmakers to fight for preborn babies, not stand in the way of protecting them.”

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (10-23-2026) — Students for Life Action (SFLAction) students and volunteers knocked on nearly 2,000 doors in Guilford County, North Carolina, during an October 17-18 deployment supporting SFLAction-endorsed state Senate candidate and Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page. Page is running for North Carolina’s 26th Senate District after defeating longtime Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger in the March Republican primary by just 23 votes.
Five students from four schools participated in the weekend deployment, reporting 60 pro-life conversations and more than 50 voter activations (voters who took a measurable pro-life action as a direct result of a door-to-door conversation). Two students knocked on doors for the first time and expressed enthusiasm about returning for future deployments.
Despite intermittent rain on Saturday, students continued engaging voters before resuming door knocking under sunny skies on Sunday. One resident told the team they supported SFLAction’s efforts and had already voted for Page.
The deployment builds on SFLAction’s 2026 North Carolina primary efforts, during which students and volunteers knocked on hundreds of doors and sent 55,000 text messages educating voters about Berger’s record of failing to advance pro-life legislation. Page, who signed SFLAction’s Pro-Life Candidate Pledge, defeated the longtime incumbent.
SFLAction had previously called on North Carolina Senate leadership to advance legislation defunding Planned Parenthood and other abortion vendors. The legislation had stalled in the North Carolina Senate.
Earlier this month, SFLAction also deployed to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, supporting pro-life congressional candidate Laurie Buckhout in her race against incumbent Democrat Representative Don Davis in the state’s 1st Congressional District.
SFLAction’s Guilford County deployment is part of its nationwide 2026 Get Out the Pro-Life Vote campaign, mobilizing students ahead of the November 3 general election.
