SFLAction Calls on Mississippi House to Pass “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act,” to Stop Chemical Abortion Pill Vendors from Mailing deadly Chemical Abortion Pills in Violation of State Laws
“The illegal trafficking of Chemical Abortion Pills makes all the wrong people happy – a new abortion cartel and abusers, who use the deadly drugs against mothers without their knowledge or consent,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “The courage of state legislators to innovate must be met by the commitment of the Trump Administration to finally enforce the Comstock Act and help the states who are working to protect LIFE.”
JACKSON, MS. (02-03-2026) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins called on Speaker of the House Rep. Jason White to hold an immediate vote and for Mississippi representatives to vote yes on the SFLAction-inspired “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” (HB812) introduced by Rep. Dan Eubanks (R), as part of an SFLAction-inspired push to address the most common method of abortion in the nation today. If signed into law, the SFLAction-inspired “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” would impose criminal and civil penalties on Chemical Abortion Pill vendors who profit from Death-by-Mail. “We are headed toward a Constitutional crisis and will not be able to remain the United State of America, if pro-abortion states hide those negligently and blatantly breaking the laws of their pro-life neighbors by helping Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking businesses to set up shop. This bill represents an innovative approach to going after those businesses mailing Chemical Abortion Pills, designed to destroy Life in the womb,” said Hawkins. “But a larger issue is at play here, and I predict we are all at the Supreme Court very soon.”
As reported in the January 2026 Students for Life’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement poll released and conducted by Survey USA, more than 9 in 10 registered Youth Voters support restoring health and safety standards that address the deadly harms of Chemical Abortion Pills. Half of Youth Voters support in-person dispensing requirements for Chemical Abortion Pills to protect women from abuse, with only 27% opposing such requirements.
Chemical Abortion Pills seriously injure up to 1 in 8 mothers who use them and are used to commit more than 60% of reported abortions. The fact that Chemical Abortion Pill Vendors are targeting pro-life states makes legislation like the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” all the more important.
Here is what the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” will do in Mississippi:
- Prohibit mailing, shipping, or prescribing abortifacients, including out-of-state sources.
Classify committing or attempting to commit an abortion using an abortifacient as a felony punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment or a fine of up to $100,000.
- Reinforce state sovereignty over medical regulation.
- Provide remedies including injunctive relief of $10,000 in damages per violation and recovery of court costs and attorney’s fees. Exclude convicted abusers, traffickers, and rapists from bringing such civil actions.
- Allow civil actions to be filed up to three years after the cause of action or one year after any legal stay is lifted.
SFLAction is encouraging pro-life students and volunteers to join the fight by urging their Representatives to VOTE YES on the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act.”
SFLAction’s push to get the “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” introduced and passed is part of our larger Make America Pro-Life Again Roadmap. Launched last November, this legislative package built upon the Gonzales v. Carhart case will help take down abortion at the state and federal level.
