Students for Life activists will gather outside the Wednesday, Oct. 14, event as the Texas U.S. Senate nominee takes questions from voters
“James Talarico has made abortion and his twisted interpretation of Christianity part of his public campaign message and promoting abortion in the process. Students are going to Dallas to challenge his narrative and ensure the pro-life perspective is represented outside a nationally televised event that will put his record and positions before Texas voters,” said Students for Life Action Vice President Lane Koch.

DALLAS, TEXAS (10-02-2026): Students for Life of America (SFLA) and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) will bring the Pro-Life Generation to Texas on Wednesday, Oct. 14, as Democrat U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico participates in a nationally televised CNN and Jubilee Media town hall. The demonstration is also part of Students for Life Action’s ongoing “Democrats Love Late-Term Abortion” campaign, which highlights Democratic candidates’ positions on abortion and their legislative records on abortion.
CNN has scheduled the event for 8 PM ET/7 PM CT, live in Texas. Erin Burnett will moderate, and Talarico will take questions from a live audience of Democrat, Republican, and independent Texas voters who intend to vote in November. CNN also said Republican nominee Ken Paxton has been invited to participate in a town hall.
SFLA students and activists plan to gather outside the Dallas event as part of our ongoing Texas outreach focused on abortion policy and Talarico’s public statements about faith and abortion.
OUR TALARICO CAMPAIGN STARTED BEFORE DALLAS
Dallas will mark the third recent Texas action in which students have brought the pro-life perspective directly to a Talarico campaign setting. In September, we launched a nationwide Get Out the Pro-Life Vote church-flyering campaign outside Talarico’s longtime church, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The effort focused on informing Christian voters about Talarico’s public statements connecting his Christian faith with his support for legal abortion.
Three days later, SFLAction joined Bears for Life and members of the Waco community outside a Sept. 16 Talarico campaign event at Baylor University.
TALARICO’S VIEWS ON ABORTION
Abortion through all nine months: Talarico supports codifying Roe v. Wade federally and has consistently voted against abortion restrictions in the Texas Legislature.
Uses Christianity to defend abortion: As a seminarian, Talarico argues that the Bible is “silent on abortion” and has invoked Mary’s consent at the Annunciation as part of his pro-abortion argument: an interpretation sharply disputed by Christian critics.
No protection for the preborn child: His bodily-autonomy framing treats abortion almost entirely as a decision belonging to the woman while giving little or no moral or legal weight to the preborn child.
Consistently opposed pro-life protections: His legislative record shows repeated opposition to Texas abortion restrictions, not merely disagreement with one provision of state law.
Faith rhetoric vs. voting record: Talarico publicly centers his campaign on Jesus and Scripture while politically supporting abortion.
