The American experiment is facing a monumental crisis of trust. Belief in the function and capability of American institutions is at an all-time low, specifically their trust in Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court. Perhaps nothing has done more to hurt the latter’s reputation than the constant leaking of Supreme Court cases – most notably the Dobbs decision back in 2022.
The leaks have continued again – and notably in one political direction. According to a recent news report from CNN, “In January, the court took the extraordinary step of letting Idaho enforce its ban on abortion with an exception only to prevent the death of a pregnant woman, despite an ongoing challenge from the Biden administration arguing that it intruded on federal protections for emergency room care.
No recorded vote was made public, but CNN has learned the split was 6-3, with all six Republican-nominated conservatives backing Idaho, over objections from the three Democratic-appointed liberals.”
These leaks essentially represent a massive violation of attorney client privilege between the American people and the highest court in the land.
The Dobbs leak was rightly identified as the worst leak of private information in the history of the U.S. Supreme Court. Despite that fact, no one was caught or punished for it. Sadly, we can probably predict that the outcome for this case will likely be the same.
This is the standard operating procedure in Washington D.C. these days – at least when it’s aimed towards Republican adjacent groups, pro-life organizations, and other conservative interests.
When the FBI was caught targeting Catholics and pro-life groups, no one lost their jobs.
When the Department of Justice (DOJ) targets conservatives or weaponizes the FACE Act against them, no one lost their jobs.
And as we all remember, nothing happened when Students for Life of America (SFLA) and other pro-life groups were identified as terrorist or terrorist organizations on a terrorist watch list or in a Department of Defense (DOD) presentation.

Even when the Secret Service failed in their singular job to protect the former President of the United States from a would-be assassin, no one was fired – and it took the entirety of Congress raking the Director across the coals to force the matter.
It would be nice to believe that things will improve or get better – but as it was famously said in the first season of HBO’s True Detective:
“This is a world where nothing is solved. Someone once told me, ‘Time is a flat circle. ‘ Everything we’ve ever done or will do, we’re gonna do over and over and over again.”
That certainly seems to be the case in Washington – and just like nothing will ever change there, nothing will ever change here at SFLA and The Pro-Life Generation, where we are going to keep working to end abortion in our lifetime.
