In Case You Missed It: Students for Life Action’s Election Night Livestream and Post-Election

On election night, during a special election night livestream, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) leaders and staff played the part of pundit, analyst, and commentator by discussing trends, calling out races, and analyzing the state of the race in real time. This included special guests including Josh Hammer, Tony Kinett, Nick Freitas, U.S. Rep. Bob Good and others.

Yesterday, after the dust of the election had settled, Hawkins and other SFLAction leaders shared that election night highlight reel with students, staff, and other volunteers. The most notable highlights include:

  • Three SFLA program affiliated candidates winning their races:
    • Dr. Bob Onder, former state senator and now first SFLA alumni in Congress for Missouri.
    • SFLA alumni and attorney TJ Roberts in Kentucky for State Rep.
    • Sam Farrington, a current SFLA student, for his state race in New Hampshire.
  • Congressman Scott Perry of PA’s 10th Congressional district keeping his seat after SFLAction rallied in his district.
  • Numerous critical state-level wins in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and West Virginia after SFLAction worked to win key primary races there.
  • The defeat of pro-abortion Democrats and Republicans alike in states like Oregon, New York, and California, strengthening those legislatures in hostile territory.
  • Pro-life numbers in the South Carolina state senate increasing, improving the likelihood of passing the Human Life Protection Act this spring.
  • A pro-abortion state Supreme Court judge in Oklahoma being defeated after SFLAction ran a video ad in the state, garnering almost a million views.
  • The defeat of pro-abortion ballot initiatives in Florida, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

To close out the night, Kristan Hawkins reminded viewers that even some races and events didn’t go our way, the night was overwhelmingly positive because of the defeat of Kamala Harris. She said “There is a path forward to limit the evil of abortion. And whenever there is path forward, there is a victory, especially when you consider what we were facing with a Kamala Harris Presidency. We weren’t just fighting for the right to be on campus, we were going to be fighting for our mere survival, for the right to free speech and free assembly.”
