Students for Life Action Launches Election Grassroots Push in Swing State of South Carolina with the Youth Vote – About One-Third of the Electorate

“This November, the Democrats will see if their all-in gamble on unrestricted abortion through all nine months is the winner they hope it is, as numerous states face pro-abortion ballot initiatives that will put the lives of mothers and babies at great risk,” said Students for Life Action Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Jacobs. “The only vision offered to voters by Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz embraces abortion radicalism far worse than Roe, guaranteeing late-term abortion until the moment of birth. The more voters learn about this barbarism, the more they reject it – and that’s why we’re heading to South Carolina this week to fight for hope and a future for all Americans – including those yet to be born.”

CHARLESTON, SC (10-01-2024)  Students for Life Action (SFLAction) is deploying to critical swing states around the country educating voters on races up and down the ballot, as Democrats run under the banner of the most pro-abortion Presidential ticket in modern history.

SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Jacobs said, “South Carolina voters need to understand that if Kamala Harris and Tim Walz successfully take the White House this November, and codify something more extreme than Roe into law, the existing pro-life protections in South Carolina would be undone, resulting in abortion without any limits through all nine months. Democrats want this extremism in every state. However, we’re going to educate South Carolina voters about the candidates who will be called to fight for life in law and service in the state legislature. With millions of lives on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher; the Pro-Life Generation is mobilized and ready to fight for Life and defend pro-life leaders!”

SFLAction has been fighting for preborn lives in South Carolina for many years now, with advocacy efforts including:

  • Advocating for the passage of the Human Life Protection Act, which would have protected preborn children from the moment of conception and ensured support for medical care if a mother’s life is in danger. During the 2023 campaign, SFLAction targeted 20 South Carolina State Senate districts and contacted more than 100,000 conservative voters through phone programming and text.
  • As the 2023 session kicked off, SFLAction held a rally at the capital, lobbied, and ran statewide digital advertising. SFLAction targeted an additional 30 State House districts ahead of the full House vote, contacting another 70,000 conservative voters, while collecting support through an online petition.

  • Defeating 11 weak-on-life Republicans in the South Carolina primary races, including the New York Times-supported, pro-abortion Republicans known as the “Sister Senators,” who sided with the Democrats to filibuster and block SFLAction supported pro-life legislation.

During the South Carolina primary, SFLAction sent out two rounds of mailers, totaling 37,407 pieces, as well as three rounds of texts, and a round of calls in the state senate districts alone, as well as running digital ads, door-knocking campaigns, and flyering efforts at churches.

Recently, SFLAction kicked off a brand-new advertising campaign, the Democrats for Infanticide Campaign, showcasing the Democrats’ comfort with the barbarism of late-term abortion and even infanticide, which includes a national TV commercial and a digital launch in Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.

  • Arizona

  • Michigan

  • Missouri
  • North Carolina
