NAPLES, FL (5-31-2024) – This weekend, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) students and volunteers will gather in Naples, Florida, to educate voters, flyer, and door knock in key neighborhoods about the upcoming abortion ballot vote in November 2024. SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Prunier said, “Joe Biden’s Democrats are going all-in on abortion 2024, making it the central focus of their re-election strategy. This makes sense considering they can’t run on anything else, given their monumental failures on everything from the border to the economy. Florida’s importance as a swing state explains in part the get-out-the-vote effort from radical abortion extremists who would strip away the hard-won legal protections for babies when the universal sign of life is detected — a heartbeat.”

The abortion lobby needs nearly 900,000 signatures to get the amendment on the 2024 ballot. According to reporting from The Washington Post, enough signatures were collected by the pro-abortion group called “Floridians Protecting Freedom” to qualify for the ballot. This initiative, which would expand abortion to nearly limitless levels, needs 60% of the vote to pass and be signed into law.

“Ballot referendums are the preferred tactic of the abortion industrial complex and their corporate funders,” said Prunier. “This confusion isn’t just a gift to the legal professionals and activist judges who benefit from advocacy-from-the-courtroom, but also to carpet bagging entities like Planned Parenthood, who come into a state with their politics and cash, to push for more of what they sell – abortion.”
SFLAction is pushing back against these ballot initiatives and signature collection campaigns across the country by turning the Youth Vote out for Life against the Democrat Party’s abortion extremism. SFLA released its fourth, wide-ranging poll of the largest segment of voters in America – the Youth Vote (Gen Z & Gen Y). The data found:
- Four in 10 rejects supporting a candidate who wanted abortion without limits and no restrictions of any kind.
- 35% said that their vote was unlikely to go to someone promising taxpayer funded abortion, which is littered throughout our federal budget.
- MORE young people now believe abortion should not be legal, now at 23% compared to 9% in 2022.

SFLAction also released two separate grassroots activism kits to help turn the tables on pro-abortion lobbyists across the country. These kits contain numerous materials, buttons, fliers, and signs for groups to organize their own rallies and educate their neighbors and fellow voters.
