BREAKING NEWS: West Virginia Governor Signs Life at Conception Act into Law

SFLAction grassroots efforts stood up nearly 100k calls and over 100k text messages in support of the bill while actively holding lobby days in the state.

“Protecting life from the moment of conception is now the law of the land in West Virginia thanks to pro-life activists and legislators,” said Dustin Curtis, SFLAction Executive Director. “We are thrilled to announce this law will prohibit the distribution of deadly Chemical Abortion pills by mail and is estimated to stop 99% of elective abortions in the state.”

CHARLESTON, W.V. and WASHINGTON, D.C. (09-16-2022) — Today, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) applauded Governor Jim Justice of West Virginia for signing the Life at Conception Act into law. The final version of the bill was passed by the House and Senate earlier this week, and as one of the only national pro-life groups engaged, SFLAction played a vital role in strengthening the legislation and getting it through the finish line.

SFLAction made 97,720 phone calls, sent 106,890 text messages, held lobby days, and collected signatures from the Pro-Life Generation in support of the Life at Conception Act. When this bill was added at the last minute to the special session in July, SFLAction texted over 31,000 pro-lifers in key districts to urge legislators to support #ProtectionAtConception within 24 hours.

SFLAction is encouraged to see this bill become law and will continue its 50-state push to protect the preborn from elective abortions, the greatest human rights violation of our time.

Only a mere 10% of voters favor the current agenda of the pro-abortion Democratic party, which supports abortion at any time and for any reason. The majority of Americans do not support what Roe stood for which was abortion on demand, through all 9 months, for any reason at all, and sometimes with taxpayer funding.
