“This bill is blatant eugenics. Senate Democrats once again are pushing their anti-life extremism and turning children into a commodified accessory, but what’s new?” said SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins. “The crass defenders of the taxpayer supported abortion industry now want to use government funding and resources to create more children who will be deliberately destroyed with the current business model. This bill must be stopped.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. (9-17-2024) – The infamous Right to IVF Act by Sen. Duckworth (D-IL) is scheduled for a vote in the Senate on Wednesday, Sep. 17th. This highly flawed legislation faces strong pro-life opposition for providing taxpayer support to a poorly regulated, badly monitored industry responsible for most of the bad press it receives.
THIS WILL BE A SCORED VOTE, AS IT WAS PREVIOUSLY.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins called on members to vote NO on the crass human trafficking and eugenics support represented in the bill. “As three of my four children have a genetic condition, I’ve heard all the arguments for ending life early, from those who don’t really love children – just their idea of a ‘perfect’ child. But all children have worth and deserve welcome in this world. What is troubling about the four Dr. Frankenstein measures cobbled together in Sen. Duckworth’s bill is that our government would be both endorsing eugenics as well as creating funding streams for a business the creates disposable children on purpose. This terrible bill opens the door to unethical reproductive practices that put genetic preferences on a shopping list, turning human beings into property. Members of Congress should strongly oppose discriminating against U.S. citizens based on their sex, genetic makeup or even eye color. Embryonic children deserve life and respect as human beings with worth – not a price tag.”
The Right to IVF Act entails four bills now rolled into one – creating a massive expansion of mandatory federal benefits. The bill package includes:
- Access to Family Building Act (Title I)
- Veteran Families Health Services (Title II)
- Access to Fertility Treatment and Care (Title III)
- Family Building FEHB Fairness (Title IV)
The Right to IVF Act would allow reproductive technology to grow past the already unethical boundaries it has crossed, making it a federal right to enable the following:
- Gene editing
- Sex selection
- Human cloning
- Making human-animal chimeras
- Reproducing children of a parent who is long deceased
- Engaging in the buying and selling of human embryos
- Commercial gestational surrogacy
Hawkins noted: “The issue is not whether we want people to create families (we’re the pro-life movement — we love babies) but whether creating disposable children, a common event with IVF, is a good idea and whether it should be a government-endorsed and funded business. Clearly, given all the issues with IVF, this industry needs massive oversight and regulation, at the very least.
This bill Right to IVF Act is a massive expansion of the for this so-called “right to IVF, and” and the pro-abortion extremists in the U.S. Senate want more taxpayers to support it.
