“The weaponization of ballot initiatives across this country to get out the vote for a failing Biden campaign while pushing abortion extremism has unfortunately gotten a leg-up in Florida today,” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins. “Despite the Florida Supreme Court ruling, the Pro-Life Generation will be on the ground educating voters and raising awareness around the reality of Biden’s push for unlimited abortion paid for by taxpayers.”

TALLAHASSEE, FL — (04-01-2024) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins called the decision by the Florida Supreme Court to allow the ballot initiative language to continue “an unfortunate mistake but one that the Pro-Life Generation will work to undue with voter education and outreach.” With the decision today, the state Constitutional Amendment pushed forward by “Floridians Protecting Freedom Inc.” will put abortion on the November 2024 ballot.
“We disagree with the Supreme Court’s decision, but the fight goes on as a marathon, not a sprint,” said Hawkins. “This election year, the Democrats will continue to use abortion as a Get-Out-The-Vote tactic to run from their terrible record on the border, economy, and foreign policy. The Pro-Life Generation will stand for Life to ensure that a pro-life President wins the White House in November.”
The threshold for the Constitutional Amendment to pass is 60% or more voters. If passed, the Florida legislature and Governor would be prohibited from passing limits or restrictions on abortion and make all pre-existing legislation protecting preborn children invalid.
Over the last few years, SFLAction and Students for Life of America (SFLA) have held multiple grassroots rallies and events at the Florida Supreme Court and State Legislature to champion the cause of life. Read more here:

But SFLAction isn’t stopping there – in February, SFLAction urged legislators to take up and support an effort to end all intentional abortions, the Life at Conception Act, HB1519, sponsored by Rep. Borrero and Rep. Beltran, which would eliminate abortion in Florida, except to save the life of the mother.

SFLAction is active this year across the country and is supporting multiple “Decline to Sign” campaigns, pushing back against the signature collection efforts that often take advantage of intentionally confusing ballot language, weaponized by pro-abortion groups.
