Smoking Gun Issues Senator Collins Please Reconsider Your Vote on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson; Her Record Concerning the Least of These is Scary

Students for Life of America (SFLA) and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) joined more than a dozen signers of a letter urging Senator Susan Collins of Maine to vote against the confirmation of Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Apparently, Senator Collins missed the memo as she stated her support for Judge Brown’s confirmation this week. We hope she’ll reconsider.

Not only did Senator Collins miss the memo, but she also missed major issues in Judge Jackson’s record that disqualify her from sitting on the Court. We are showing up and speaking out because President Biden’s nominee to serve on the highest court in our Nation has radical pro-abortion record.

SFLAction and other letter signers strongly opposed Judge Brown’s confirmation with taking key issue to her sentencing history for child porn offenders. The letter stated:

Judge Jackson has a troublesome record on crime, specifically when it comes to child predators. Going back to law school, Judge Jackson questioned making convicts register as sex offenders, claiming it could lead for sex offenders to be stigmatized and ostracized. While serving on the Sentencing Commission, Judge Jackson advocated for eliminating mandatory minimum sentences for child porn. According to Senator Hawley, “In the case of United States v. Hawkins, the sex offender had multiple images of child porn. He was over 18. The Sentencing Guidelines called for a sentence of up to 10 years. Judge Jackson sentenced the perpetrator to only 3 months in prison.

Several Republicans on the Committee questioned Jackson’s previous sentencing of sex offenders and raised concern with her ability to not legislate from the bench.

In a recent op-ed, SFLA and SFLAction President, Kristan Hawkins, wrote, “Searching for a judge with “a living constitution” perspective, Biden wanted someone who leaned toward creative writing rather than Constitutional loyalty, which should trouble U.S. Senators when they question the nominee.”

SFLAction applauds the Senators who questioned Judge Brown’s disastrous record on abortion. From revoking rights of pro-life advocates to defending partial birth abortions, it’s no wonder she has the blessing of abortion lobbyists like Planned Parenthood.

“On the issue of abortion, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson helped defend what isn’t in the Constitution—barbaric late-term partial birth abortion. And she ignored what is in the Constitution—free speech rights for pro-life Americans,” wrote Hawkins in analysis for Fox News.

Downright gruesome, partial birth abortion is a late-term procedure in which a baby is delivered all but the head so that a child’s brain can be removed to deliver a dead baby. We hoped Senator Collins would recognize the horrors of partial birth abortions and vote against Judge Jackson.

Throughout the questioning period in the Committee on the Judiciary, SFLAction closely monitored the conversation surrounding Judge Brown’s background and qualifications for the Court, and we will return Monday to continue our mobilization against her confirmation.

With the nomination advancing, we still say, NO WAY, KBJ!
