Students for Life Action Announced Nationwide Push to Stop Biden’s Radical Redefinitions of “Sex” & “Discrimination” — An Abortion Mandate In Disguise

Joe Biden’s Administration Attempts a Secretive End Run Around the American People in little known regulation changes to Force Funding of Chemical, Hormonal, & Surgical Permanent Changes – Abortion Included – Along with Punishment of All Who Disagree

 “The Biden Administration is forcing life and death changes into our healthcare and education policy,” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins. “President Biden and his radicalized team want to create confusion over the definitions of sex and discrimination to demand mandates for abortion and experimental gender change procedures that end people’s fertility, but one thing will be clear – who pays – all of us, whether you like it or not.”

BIG WINNERS: Planned Parenthood & Corporate Abortion in winning a mandate that will force Americans to underwrite their abortion and gender transitioning business. Gender bullies who can use the regulations against those who don’t share their views.

Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act

BIG LOSERS:  Preborn babies who can be killed. Sterilized Minors who will pressured by gender activists to throw away a part of themselves forever. Women whose unique protections and childbearing abilities will be downgraded and ended. Medical professionals who can lose their livelihood if they believe changing someone’s gender or ending someone’s life by abortion is a mistake. Taxpayers who will be forced to fund it.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (0804-2022) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins announced a nationwide effort to prevent President Joe Biden’s Administration from a one-two punch to change regulations in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and at the Department of Education (DOE) that together “create an abortion mandate in disguise.” Announced today, HHS is attempting to change language in Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act that would mandate certain “health care services” to be paid for in the name of non-discrimination to wildly expanded, fill-in-the-blank categories. In the news release in which HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra announces that healthcare laws may soon be used against pro-life Americans and spells out that REQUIRED coverage includes abortions, it “(m)akes clear that discrimination on the basis of sex includes discrimination on the basis of pregnancy or related conditions, including ‘pregnancy termination.’”

Students for Life Action will be calling on voters nationwide to oppose this radical change, slipped into regulations for insurance.

Already, SFLA is calling for voters to oppose changes to language that the DOE is making to Title IX, a provision designed to protect women’s interests at schools. Both efforts basically redefine “sex” from biological realities to whatever an individual asserts and expand the idea of “nondiscrimination” to include non-FDA approved experimental hormones and even surgeries in the name of both gender identity and abortion.

As we noted previously, the Title IX rule change aims to prohibit, “Discrimination based on sex including protections against discrimination based on sex stereotypes and pregnancy.” But the Biden Administration leaves the policy interpretation blatantly open when it comes to “gender identity” and “sex characterizations.” Also noteworthy is the redefinition of “discrimination on the basis of sex” to include “discrimination on the basis of sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”

Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act

Page 460 proposes defining “pregnancy or related conditions” as:

(1) Pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation;

(2) Medical conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation; or

(3) Recovery from pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, lactation, or their related medical conditions.

“Title IX once protected women, including pregnant and parenting women, but now we won’t even know what a woman is as the definition is expanded to fill-in-the-blank,” said Hawkins. “Biden’s team will create confusion over biological sex, but not over who pays for any changes or treatments. By changing the HHS regulations, taxpayers will be on the hook for whatever they call ‘treatment,’ and abortion is included.”

“In changing Title IX, Biden’s Administration would accomplish what misogynists never could before this, exclude women from their own company along with protections for equal opportunity and access for biological women,” said Hawkins. “In changing 1557, Biden’s team would wipe out future generations. People will lose children through abortion and perhaps even their fertility leading to future children, all to satisfy Biden’s base while crushing the medical conscience rights of providers who do not wish to commit the violence of abortion or alter a person’s body in ways that can never be repaired. Biden confuses short term political payback with long-term consequences for the people who will suffer from his team’s agenda.

Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act

“Consider that the human brain is not fully matured until age 25, which makes Biden’s interest in isolating teens to fast-track unalterable abortions or body changes severe negligence. Many people at 25, 35 or beyond regret decisions made in haste at 15,” Hawkins said. “We should not experiment with people’s futures.”
